I think the club will have a timeline on him leaving if and only if his valuation is met. If it comes down to a couple of days before the window closes then he stays. Personally I’d like to see him stay give promotion a go and if it doesn’t happen the club doesn’t stand in his way

Honestly if we get an offer of 20+ million plus add ons and bonuses then I think Clarke's gone, regardless of whether he wants to stay or not and I'll tell ya why, first off he'll not sign a new contract cos this lot won't up the wage bill and finally after this season Clarke will have only a year left on his deal and that's the thing regardless of how good Clarke is, with his contract winding down, next season we'll be lucky to get 15+ million next summer or January, right now is the clubs best opportunity to get 20+ million for Clarke while he's still got 2 years left on his contract, I don't want Clarke to go cos with Clarke we've got a chance of promotion this season but without him then it becomes a lot more tricky, like I said I don't want to lose him however if we are gonna sell him it's best we do it now cos it'll be stupid to try and hold on until deadline day and lose him at the last minute but not be able to try and replace him and reinvest that money until January and we all know January's a crap window for transfers anyway, if Clarke is sold which I'm starting to think will happen now we'll potentially finally see what this lot are really made of cos they'll be no excuses not to splash the cash after a big sale, like what Coventry did after selling Gykores and Hamer, they spent big on Simms, Wright and Van Eijk or whatever his name is, the model and regime will be tested big time if Clarke is sold this window
