Thanks for the lesson. Why is "duai" used in "chuai got mit teer duai kha?" The passenger will press the meter together with the taxi driver? 🤔 Thanks 🙏
@QuickThaiLearn6 күн бұрын
Thank you for your question Dore!😊 Meaning of "ด้วย" (duai) "ด้วย" (duai) in Thai generally means "with," "together," or "also." It indicates that an additional action is required or something should be done together with another action. Usage of "ด้วย" (duai) in Requests When you use "ด้วย" (duai) in a request, it emphasizes that the action should be done as an additional part of the service. For example: "ช่วยกดมิเตอร์ด้วยค่ะ" (chuai got meter duai kha) - "Please also turn on the meter." In this context, "duai" emphasizes that turning on the meter is an essential additional action. Difference Between "ด้วย" (duai) and "หน่อย" (noi) ด้วย (duai): Adds emphasis that an additional action is required. Example: "ช่วยกดมิเตอร์ด้วยค่ะ" (chuai got meter duai kha) - "Please also turn on the meter." The meter should be turned on as an extra action. หน่อย (noi): Softens the request, making it more polite and less demanding. Example: "ช่วยกดมิเตอร์หน่อยค่ะ" (chuai got meter noi kha) - "Please turn on the meter." The request is gentle and polite. "ด้วย" (duai) indicates an additional required action, while "หน่อย" (noi) softens the request to make it more polite. Both are important for making polite and clear requests in Thai. If you have any more questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask! 😊

Thanks for the lesson. When ordering food, how can I tell the waiter/waitress that I want regular or large size? Thanks again 😃🙏
@QuickThaiLearn8 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment! When ordering food in Thai, you can specify the portion size as follows: For a regular size, you can say ธรรมดา (tham-ma-da), which means "normal" or "regular". For a large size, you can say พิเศษ (phée-sàyt), which means "special" or "large". For example, if you're ordering Pad Thai, you can say: Regular size: ผัดไทย ธรรมดา (Phat Thai tham-ma-da) Large size: ผัดไทย พิเศษ (Phat Thai phée-sàyt) I hope this helps! Enjoy your meal! 😊

Computer generated voice overs. Computer generated woman in shorts 😢 Why even go the effort? Your English voiceover is way more advanced than the Thai one. Maybe go shopping for a better one. Or find a real Thai with knowledge instead of using AI prompting.
