Great video! Talk about over built! Lumber must be much cheaper in Poland than America. That beast would have cost around $1000 in the U.S. Cheers! Świetny film! Mów o przebudowanej! Drewno w Polsce musi być znacznie tańsze niż w Ameryce. Ta bestia kosztowałaby w USA około 1000 dolarów. Pozdrawiam!

I would have used a trailer jack instead of all that fab and carrying a bottle jack. I just picked up a weld on one. Has the round cylinder to Weld to whatever. Then a pull pin to attach or rotate. Has like 28" of travel with side crank handle and drop down leg with pin. $60 weld on and you're done. The pivot makes me jealous though. I picked up a used crane for $150. Cylinder leaks a little, the pivot just a pipe inside another pipe base with gussets. Has a nylon washer between the 2. Cleaning and greasing no has it better but...poor design

Who has all that metalworking equipment to begin with? And who has perfect rounds like that? Using this splitter has safety issues. Note how close the operator lets his hands get at times.

You built it very nicely! I would like to make one comment: you have fixed one of the outputs of the differential. With this, you have reduced the ratio by half. It does not cut perfectly because the speed of the cutting roller is low. And the solution is right there in your hands: free the fixed output and simply weld the planetary gears of the differential inside. It will cut beautifully! Very clever!

Is there a way to compare it to the tonnage of a hydraulic cylinder to get some kind of idea of what it can do? I really like the seriousness of that splitter but it can be deceiving by the wood you were splitting. One thing for certain is there is no forgiveness if your fingers are in the wrong place. I’m dealing with so much variety with the wood that I split and burn,so I’m more comfortable using my hydraulics. But I can definitely see a purpose in a more perfect world to have and use the one you built. I’m getting old and slightly slower nowadays but I think I might have preferred yours some years back. Thanks for sharing your work ethics, knowledge and build. Peace

Man I’m a retired welder fabricator of over forty years, and I’m putting you up there with me brother. lol. Really nice work. That thing doesn’t play , I would like to see it split some hard oak or maple, just to see what it does. But I have to say, you did a fine job building it. ✌️👍. Oh one more thing, I would love to see it with the shrouds off to see just a bit more. I am impressed for sure. I’ve been doing fab work most of my life. It’s good to see someone else that does the same thing. The few jobs I’ve had working for someone else, when you’re good at this type of thing they always leave you to do your thing. It’s like being your own boss even though you work for someone. I know I drove a lot of people crazy because I don’t ever get yelled at and people do get jealous of the respect I always got. I always enjoyed working because it is something different all the time. Good luck to you brother. ✌️
