Does the carbon fiber film get damaged easily and peel off?
@ProslatInc21 күн бұрын
Hi Rich, thank you for your question. We have not had a lot of customers who have reported the film peeling. When cutting the slatwall you can place painters tape on it prior to cutting to mitigate any jagged edges of the film. If ever you do get a mark you can use a black sharpie to hide the imperfections as needed.

Do we need to make hole in stud before installing screws?
@ProslatInc28 күн бұрын
Hi Tom, No you don't need to drill pilot holes into the studs. As you screw through the Slatwall panel you go through, into the studs. Thank you,

@prolat do the steps for the electtical box apply to the ProCore product? Do I still make a cutout of the aluminum core, if my box straddles two panels?
@ProslatInc3 ай бұрын
Good question! The steps would be the same for PROCORE, or any of our slatwall types. Please let us know if you have any more questions on how to do this.

What about installing on metal studs? This is a commercial profuct and most commercial buildings are metal such as ours. Thank you.
@ProslatInc3 ай бұрын
The screws we provide with our Slatwall are wood screws. When installing the Slatwall panels on metal studs you will need to get 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch self tapping screws.

It's unfortunate that you can't install it up to the ceiling without a 6" gap.
@ProslatInc3 ай бұрын
You can install the slatwall floor to ceiling. You would have to cut a slat horizontally, and typically you cut the bottom portion of the panel. This way you don’t cut away the interlocking/ screw cavity parts of the slat panel. Usually we install the cut panel at the very bottom. There are ways to install with cutting the last panel at the very top of the wall too but requires different steps. Our technical support would be happy to guide you through this. We have a video “How to Install Slatwall Extra's” where we discuss cutting the bottom panel to be level, but it is the same concept. Let us know if you have any questions.

What if my studs are 12” apart?
@ProslatInc3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question. You would screw into the studs at every 12 inches. It becomes an issue when you are wider than 16" apart for PVC Slatwall.
@huevosrancheros7023 ай бұрын
@@ProslatInc thank you for clarifying. Does Proslat sale additional screws? With my studs being 12inches apart and not 16, I am having to use two extra screws per panel. I been to a couple hardware stores and can’t seem to find a great match. Any help would be appreciated.

@@huevosrancheros702 Hi Don, my pleasure. Reach out to us from our website (dont think I can put email addresses in youtube comments) we would be happy to send you extra screws/ hardware we would just kindly ask that you cover the shipping cost which would not be a lot considering the package will be small. did you have to insert wood stud backing on other side of receptacle to screw the aluminum frame to? I believe I have wood stud only on one side of each receptacle, which would introduce a weak point in aluminum support

What’s the weight rating for 18” studs?
@ProslatInc9 ай бұрын
This product has not been tested for 18” stud centres, it was done for 16, which would be 75 lbs per sq.ft. If you have 18” stud centres I would opt for our Procore Slatwall or higher. This will give you 200 lbs per sq.ft

I want to order a specific size for my office room which I am converting to my new gun room. I noticed the carbon fiber laminate. I absolutely am sold on the idea but to be honest, the price is a little bit high, and yes I know the tech is worth it. 400-500 dollars on just the walls is a bit over the amount right now, but if you guys could custom create sizes I think it would be worth the buy.

What is that measuring device or stud finder used in this video?
@mauricecooper901610 ай бұрын
Says in the video that the lift needs a minimum of 3ft by 4ft of open space and the motor mount needs to be a minimum of 3ft from any walls or obstructions. Thats where the tape measure comes in. Stud finder is obviously used to find the ceiling joists if you have a finished ceiling. If you or ceiling joists are exposed then you can omit the stud finder.

I have a very specific area I want the wall to be centered on but what if the studs don’t start and end on the ends of the slat wall? I know it may not have the highest strength possible but is it still doable if the end don’t exactly end on studs? I would just avoid loading the ends with anything heavy….

Why does everything ive watched show it having two full lengths of side trim yet when you order the kit the side trim has already been cut to half the length. Now entire project on hold until I get the full length pieces. Just think maybe shouldn't show it like that's how it comes when a 4×8 kit comes with the 4' side pieces already cut to 4'. I ordered two sets thinking I just wouldn't cut them and use each from each set per side to be the proper length for a full 8ft. It really doesn't make sense as to why you would precut them unless to require another purchase or maybe you are using short pieces from scraps but if not it would really make more sense to just send 1 single full stick which could be cut in half for a 4ft section for both sides or if people buy multiple sets it's still usable don't you think? 🤔

Hi Nappy! We're sorry to hear that our videos caused you some confusion and some inconvenience in starting your project. We have changed the boxes for multiple reasons. One of the main reasons is that unfortunately, we had to evolve our product packaging size due to the reality of current shipping standards regarding overlength boxes. We have updated all of our product descriptions to show the changes in the parts list. We even added in our video description that our new packaging comes with the side trims already cut. We are working on a new installation video to show these changes additionally. Please feel free to contact us directly about this issue, and we will try our best to make an unfortunate situation better! Thank you,
