Me and my sister went to Holy cross girls school from 1971 to 1976 the school teachers and head mistress Mrs Hanson was lovely. The school run was dreadful local residents calling us names spitting at us etc my mum carried pepper spray We used to live down a couple of streets away untill all Catholics where put out of the area. Total disgrace those sort of people are narrow minded gold fish syndrome, don't move on they just don't see any further than there nose no wonder the country is the way that it was away back then.

How come all of these great Irish and UK sweet manufacturers went bankrupt or were taken over by foreign investors. Another great Irish brand was Cleeves toffee in Limerick. In UK all the great brands are foreign owned. Surely for the sake of local employment and community pride the authorities could help to keep these businesses going but then again capitalism dictates that the market rules.

Magnificent work , Amazing work, this is like watching a master sculptor in Armenia making a Armenian Stone Crosses. They are very similiar yet retain their uniquness. Well done Brenden, I am jealous Have a look at this about Armenian Crosses and their similarities kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rtJnhZOH0c6sinU.html

Wednesday 5 September: As the parents and their children passed Glenbryn Parade, loyalists threw a blast bomb towards them. The device exploded, injuring two police officers and a police dog. Panic ensued. Children began screaming and "weeping uncontrollably" and one mother suffered a panic attack.[8] All were taken to hospital.

what a prick u can be, the very fact there was 3months unrest in 40years and u cannot open your mind to the fact the protest was never against children or the school, and i keep telling u, no children were attacked, if u walk the same way near everyday for 3months and your constantly under attack, then the grace of god will not save u, buck stop with the parents, complete and utter shame on them

as for the parents, well i know it suits u to look at the situation in black and white, but the protest was never against children or the school, and history proves that, and so does the fact that school has been peaceful since the protest, i understand loyalism should have suspended the protest after the scenes of the first day, but republicans also should have took a step back, considering the reason a protest was being organized from june

that is a load of balls about loyalists being thrown out of the shankill, the only people i ever heard saying that were from Ardoyne, people in Glenbryn were expelled out of the area for supporting Jonny Adair, not even one person from the shankill back then or to this day has moved in to Glenbryn, u know very little about loyalist areas if u even think for a second that is true or could ever happen,
@mrpink921
@mrpink921 11 жыл бұрын
There was little trouble in that area until loyalists expelled from the shankil due to feuds moved in. I'm not saying nationalists never done anything wrong, but the loyalists moving in and affirming their territory to deal drugs was the starting point of holy cross. Like I said before, parents brought their kids to school. Loyalists attacked kids going to school.
@williamjames3326
@williamjames3326 11 жыл бұрын
not want republican parents walking through their area, sick bastards republicans were putting them kids in that position, and a lot of the world also noticed that, republicans like u need to realize everything is not the poor wee Catholics are innocent stories, wise up
@williamjames3326
@williamjames3326 11 жыл бұрын
and considering i live in and around Glenbryn/Ballysillan, i can tell u this, it was no surprise to me that republicans were attacking loyalists along the peace line, as they wanted the empty houses in Glenbryn and tortured the people who left living there, so i applaud loyalists who defended the homes in Glenbryn at that time, we could not use the Ardoyne shops, we cannot walk down the crum rd on the 12th, which does not in any way go through ardoyne, and u cannot grasp why loyalists did.....

@@matthewmclintock3514 How else would you characterise attacking kids? Regardless of what was happening at night...was attacking kids the right thing to do?
@williamjames3326
@williamjames3326 11 жыл бұрын
so please stop with the poor Catholic stories, i do realize that is how u republicans were brought up, but its now out of date and frankly boring and basically untrue, i have recognized what loyalism done wrong surrounding the holy cross dispute, but u still dance around republican violence at that time,
@williamjames3326
@williamjames3326 11 жыл бұрын
so in other words u do not believe that loyalists had their homes attacked along the peace line by republicans, because i can assure u that people living in Glenbryn park had their homes shot at, and had pipe bombs thrown over the peace line at them, and remember republicans murdered Trevor Kell around a year before the protest, and republicans cut a hole in the peace line to shoot a young loyalist who was with his young son who wasnt even a year old,
@mrpink921
@mrpink921 11 жыл бұрын
How many loyalists had their houses burned??? None. No loyalists made reports of their houses being shot at, and blast bombs were found along the peace line in Protestant areas, they did not explode and were believed to have been loyalist pipe bombs that failed to go over the wall. And you will find that any independent body would be more sympathetic towards innocent children, than to the attackers of children.

4 pipe bombs were thrown into Glenbryn by republicans, maybe the protest had been suspended at that time, but not cancelled, i find it astonishing if u have all these stats but fail to see that anywhere, and during the holy cross dispute one Saturday morning a republican gun man fired up the Ardoyne rd at loyalists, if u cannot see that in whatever your pulling your info from then it is beyond one sided, also shots were fired at houses in Glenbryn park on numerous occasions, remember...

During the holy cross issue 5 nationalists homes were burned, several pipe bombs were thrown at nationalists, one exploding in a garden, the blast threw a child against the garden wall. Shots were fired at catholic homes. 0 Protestant homes were burned. 0 pipe bombs exploded in loyalist areas. 0 shots were fired at loyalist homes. Nationalists threw stones and paint.

by republicans, and a lot that went on was disgusting on both sides, but u really need to at least try and understand it was not all one way, i live in that part of Belfast so i do not need u to quote geography for me, the main reason the cumlin rd route was suggested by loyalists is because it has always been shared space, something republicans need to grasp, and remember before any protest loyalists were being threatened and assaulted for using the Ardoyne shops
@williamjames3326
@williamjames3326 11 жыл бұрын
i have already admitted that extremists within loyalism were very active at that time, but u seem to dismiss republican attacks, for example, in Glenbryn 4 pipe bombs were thrown into Glenbryn park by republicans at the same time, then noy long after a young loyalist was shot walking down the same street by republicans, and yes i do realize there was a swift retaliation, my point is both sides were attacking each other at will, twandell and the woodvale bore the blunt of daily attacks .....
