Hello. Yes I do have an attorney and think it's the best move. The attorney said the process will take 12 to 18 months. Pretty straightforward I guess. All my family is Portuguese and I was born in Canada. Would be cool to be a dual citizen. Been to Portugal 10 plus times over the years and life is so laid back.

This is why they make so little money. Putting free time and family first has its benefits and drawbacks. All over europe people want to work less and make more money. This is actually impossible. Then when it doesn't happen, they protest. Who are they protesting against, nobody knows. They might be protesting against aliens not dropping sacks of money from space or something.

Very good video and content. I want to ask about the tax. If all of my money is generating from the states, are they gonna double tax me in Portugal? Thanks!
@nouglyducklingАй бұрын
No - you won't be double taxed. 😅 You will only be taxed on your income for Portugal. Then you can show the US IRS that you've already paid your taxes as a Portuguese resident. 🤩
@2011homeboyАй бұрын
Are you sure? What I learned is that even US and Portugal have an agreement saying they won’t double tax, but since Portugal tax is much higher than the US such as capital gain, as a Portugal resident, you have to pay the difference of us-sourced income.

I’ve been studying Portuguese for 9.5 years now and I’ve visited Brazil 18 times but I still can’t read or converse. I practice every day with my girlfriend who only speaks Portuguese and we’ve been practicing for 6.5 years now but I still can’t understand her and I have to translate everything into English one word at a time to understand which prevents me from conversing. I can’t make out most of what people are saying. That and having to translate everything in my head or with a translator prevents me from communicating and is very frustrating. The Portuguese words don’t mean anything to me like English words do. They seem to be permanently attached to the corresponding English words.

Hi Pat! Portugues e a lingua MUITO DIFICIL!! I can totally relate. The good thing is you only speak Portuguese with your girlfriend so that helps a lot. Hi Trish,I visited the caves of Mira d'Aire in 1976 ,I was 12years old!!Caves are made by nature.The Earths crust is made of tectonic plates which move against other plates and 1 result is an eartquake and another result is the birth of Caves.As the last major earthquake in Portugal was in 1755,I guess thats when the acces to these Caves was created by nature,and only discovered in the 20th century.Portugal is near the edge of 3 major tectonic plates the atlantic ,african and iberian plate meet beneath the ocean water.As you probably know,the Philipines lie near the so called Ring of Fire(vulcanos),perhaps the most sensitive and unstable region in the world and so does Japan,Indonesia and the Americas!!Great video!! that's why I love your videos,you go places where most foreigners don't go.Not many people know this place,but I guess by now every portuguese has visited this place at least 1 time!!Bye Tricia and see you next video!!Thanks!!
