if you look carefully at solas' eyes in inquisition there IS purple in it and there have been purple eyes truthers for solas so i think it really is his eyes, his eyes are just a mix of blue/gray and purple so they went with purple. but it could be due to the new power he has or magic too obviously.

I'm getting weird clown vibes from the The Veilguard darkspawn like Killer Clowns from Outerspace. I'm going to have to call them clownspawn in this game. Changing the ionic Dragon Age demons to just collected trash spirits seems an odd choice. I hope there is a lore reason that makes sense of it. The way rook joins Varic and Harding as some pointless random who was good in a bar fight is suspicious. I'm hoping there is in-game back story on how some nobody magically happens to find the only two people in the world other than Neve that know how to find the god that at the very moment appears to be conducting a ritual that will destroy the world. The limited info so far makes rook's part in this seem suspicious or just dumb. I'm pretty sure the game will hopefully make more sense. Why are Varic and Harding the only 2 people in a world trying to stop the worlds destruction? Did Varic and Harding hide that they had located Solas finally at the last minute after 10 years since Trespasser? It's nice we have companions as that is one of the things that make Bioware games great. However, why weren't these groups helping Varic and Harding when a god appeared to be actively destroying the world? I don't think rook can really trust any group other than their origin group and maybe Neve's group. You can't even trust the inquisition (or former inquisition) as they appear criminally absent when the world was about to be destroyed. So far the heroes of the last games appear as big of losers as the demon and evil cult loving absent greyspawn were in the last game. After the way Trespasser ended the beginning of this game (so far) seems a little like ... wait wtf. Won't know for sure until the game releases for us to play.

Omg clownspawn lol Thank you for watching the video. I don't expect either the trailer or the gameplay reveal to make much sense just because the goals of the videos were mainly to illustrate key components of what Players will see and interact with. To my understanding, the Inquisitor and certain select members are acting covertly because Solas and his spies infiltrated the Inquisition and found out too much. Hence the cinematic scene in which the one-arm Inquisitor stands around the map of Thedas telling the others that they have to find folks Solas doesn't know and stop their friend. Harding makes sense because she supposedly knew Solas well. (I don't remember how but others have said it.) Varric carries the heart of the Inquisition and would've thought to be sitting on the throne at Kirkwall so he's a good undercover agent to hire other undercover agents. I can't wait to play DAV to watch the story unravel and tie up some loose ends lore wise.

I can't take DA Veilguard seriously, the characters, Emeric/Emmrich for example and ESPECIALLY the eyeball-druggy darkspwan.. it's a joke in my opinion. I played DAO back in 2009 and replayed it every single year at least once. I knew I'll never get a Dragon Age Origins 2, I just hoped for a better DAI... Veilguard doesn't feel right in my opinion. The first trailer shocked me so much, the 20 minute "gameplay" felt weird.. The faces are way too Instagram and I despise it. I am hoping that Veilguard won't look so cartoonish,instagram-like when it's released. I want to romance the warden, he's hot 🔥. If they'll look like that tho(Instagram filter) .. I don't think I will play the game.

I found what i was looking for. 'Matt Rhodes, who worked on concept art for the Dragon Age series, explained in a blog post that the decision to redesign the Darkspawn was necessary for a number of reasons; besides their unsatisfactory art style in Origins, he cited the storytelling need to emphasize that the Taint is a severe sickness affecting people, and as a necessary retcon of the complex and intricate design of Darkspawn armor in Origins since the Taint is supposed to lead to brain decay, which results in a reduction of the victim's intelligence and sophistication. Rhodes acknowledged the divisive reception towards the redesign of the Darkspawn as a learning experience for the design team'

What would be the possibility of Old Gods being the Forgotten Ones?
@SaeybinUnderFire
@SaeybinUnderFire Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question. In Dalish legends, the Forgotten Ones were said to be many while Tevinter presents us with only 7 Old Gods, potentially 8. Unless the Old Gods can split their essences like Mythal, I'm not so certain they are the Forgotten Ones. If you've done the Dark Ritual with Morrigan in DAO for you to encounter the old god baby Kieren in DAI, he held the essence of Urthemiel and there was only one of them. What Saria and I believe to be a good probability is that the Forgotten Ones were the ancient dwarves prior to the war with the Titans or prior to the founding of the dwarven empire.

Many things in DA:I and The Descent DLC hinted at lyrium being the conduit through which the life-essence of everything flows. Red lyrium could well be stagnant life-essence, mad souls forever trapped in lyrium, unable to reincarnate because the lyrium veins they flowed through were cut from the system... and that reminds me of The Gangue Shade codex entry.

@Saeybin Under Fire With the references to Lyrium being Titan blood it makes me wonder if Red Lyrium could have been created from somebody using blood magic on the lyrium or using the lyrium to perform blood magic and thus corrupting it? Ludonauta's comment about the connection to the fade and souls passing through lyrium made me think of this due to the color of the corrupted lyrium being red, blood is red, and isn't blood magic centered around harnessing the lifesource of yourself or others? I imagine the lifesource of a titan could be used to perform some seriously powerful magic I.E. possibly how Solas was able to accomplish seemingly impossible things in the past? Or even maybe the original source of all the elven gods power? Banded together to slay a titan and divided up the power between them? Red Lyrium could also just be dead titan blood since blood is blue when we are alive and turns red when we die, so the other regular blue lyrium is still somehow connected to a living but sealed or slumbering Titan? This was a lot longer than I intended but please let me know what you think! Thank you for diving into all this cool lore, can't wait for the next game!
@SaeybinUnderFire

@@connarwint7355 Thank you for watching! The red in lyrium could imply blood, either enchanted into the blue lyrium vein like passing on a virus or that blue turned red after the Evanirus killed a couple of titans. I'm still wondering who's blood and what type of magic. Could it be dragon blood that was used to cast the magic or elven blood? Either way, Solas implied that there's nothing wrong with blood magic if used ethically but standards might be different. Solas does exhibit magic that no other mage seems to have like Petrified and Blight magic. It'll be interesting to figure out how he derived with those arcane magic. I do suspect like you that it has to do with the Titans - petrified = stone, blight = blue lyrium+effective immortality <the way Corypheus soul can jump into a Grey Warden.

Why doesn't anyone ever talk about the golems in the Thaig? I've always heard the bullshit explanations about how they're Caradin's or just a plothole or some BS. I was watching a DA: O playthrough recently and even Caradin's own notes say the Anvil was a "vision from the ancestors". I've always believed that he re-discovered a lost art, due to the Thaig. And the Sha Britol only further confirmed that theory for me. Caradin's overlooked note in Origins for me are just the final nail in the coffin.
@SaeybinUnderFire
@SaeybinUnderFire Жыл бұрын
I like what you're saying. Valta mentioned that the Sha-Brytol must have a thaig somewhere to create their armor so why couldn't they have created other things like golems? I think the confusion with the golems is the reuse of assets so what might not be the Caridin's brand of golems can't be distinguished from something that House Valdasine or the Shal-Brytol could've made. With that said, the engines that created DAO, DA2, and DAI as well as the design concepts were all different so what we have to go on is simply how the golems got there and that's a wild guess.

Stumbling on your hannel for the new year has been an absolute blessing. I am loving these deep dives you're doing with other Dragon Age loreheads, and am very much looking forward to what else you have planned for us. About the Red Lyrium idol and how it can be used as a weapon. Is it possible it has something to do with Andruil? Solas tells us she was was a goddess of sacrifice, so the mages using it to kill slaves in rituals might have been right up there with why it was crafted. Andruil also wore armor of the Void, so it wouldn't be too out there if she also smithed weapons from it. The codex entry also tells us that the gods feared Andruil would hunt them in turn. All this to say that the reason the idol might be capable of defeating the 'Fell Wolf' (and perhaps other Evanuris) is because it was specifically crafted for the purpose of slaying/sacrificing gods.

@@SaeybinUnderFire The only thing that I have thought about was there are Ten Evanuris. 5 males 4 females. Unlike the Old Gods, the elven pantheon was never believed to have walked the "mortal realm" or to have challenged the Maker. Elves considered the Fade a holy place and were not supposed to be walked in mortal form. So are the "Old gods" the Dragons and the "Maker" the center of the world with 4 Titans holding it together? Were the Evanuris supposed to be the "protectors" of the Titans. Did they grow too prideful and destroy themselves? Who was the war against? Did some hold true to protecting the Titans while others sought more and more power because they wanted to be the best of the Evanusis? Did some of them hope to become the Ruler of all? I have looked at several images of DA and all fo them have a running theme of 4 Pillars with a center. Each of these 4 "pillars" have an identifying mark on either side. In some, you actually see triangles on 4 sides. We also know there are triangles all over the game. I think there are 4 pyramids throughout the world that would provide much more information. One, in particular, was mentioned in Seheron. Why did the Quanari come to Thedas? What/who are the "true" Kossith? Do Quanari have Dragon Blood as Bull suggest? Ameridan had a “spirit friend” also. Listening closely during the quest line gives lots of hints. Also, Cole mentions after Solas leaves you in Crestwood that “You are real and that means everyone could be.” It almost makes me believe that the real “Inquisitor” actually died, as did Justinia. But, “the mark was created intentionally,” the inquisitor could not remember anything after waking up. Who is to say Solas did not give you that mark, send you back into the world through the rift as a spirit as Cole had done to assist cleaning up his mistake. We actually don't know what really happened to Loghain's men or whether all of them were willing to be ordered by Anora but that's the impression I got so they did end up merging with the army the Warden and Alistair gathered. However, they were never meant to fully defeat the darkspawns. Way too many of them. The aim was to get the grey wardens close to the archdemon to defeat it so that the rest of the darkspawn hord will fall back.

I need to check, but I was pretty sure XP earned as any character applies in dribs and drabs to ALL of your characters, until all of them are at level 20. I think this because characters I haven't played in AGES have advanced. This is why I'm on record saying both of you should grab kills 😂

Interesting!! We don't actually close the loop on what changes actually happen to the demon-posessed, nor how the connection to the Blighted realm might function, but it's kind of fascinating to think mages might use such knowledge to reverse possession. Or, as we know can be done, Tranquility. Or maybe what Anders did. Or perhaps the Greg Warden Taint?
