Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Electric Callboy (formerly known as Eskimo Callboy, but they changed it because they realised, that the word Eskimo is a slur term and an insult for the Inuit people) EC are a metalcore (more a partycore band nowadays) Band from Germany (from the city of Castrop-Rauxel in the Ruhr Area) and they are around for more than 10 years with 6 albums in general. The latest one Tekkno jumped to the first place in the german billboard charts after they released it in 2022. Hypa Hypa was released in the peak of the Corona pandemic mainly to cheer us up and also to introduce Nico as their new clean vocalist (replacing the old singer Sushi). So mainly EC don't take themself very serious but they take their music and the business very serious and work hard to create awesome music. Most of their songs are goofy and funny, but they also have extremly good dead serious songs like Crystals, The Scene or Best day (all three with Sushi on the mic) or with Nico Hate/ Love, Mindreader, Neon or Parasite. If you are new to EC I recommend Hypa Hypa (which started all the fuzz - they had also a collab with several other bands who copied Hypa Hypa in their own style i recommend We butter the bread with butter and also the Saltatio Mortis Version), Pump it, We got the moves, Spaceman, Everytime we touch and many more. They are produciong 90% of their music videos by themself and with Schillobros which are Pascal Schillo (one of the EC guitarists) and his brother. After it came to their ears, that people like to listen to EC in the Gym they released Pump It to create the ultimate Gym Hymn.

Over the last 10 years, I have learned to expect nothing from BABYMETAL. They're musical chameleons and can do anything they set their minds to. Prior to this, I had never heard of ECB, so, again, I expected nothing. This track is AMAZING, and the video is the most fun video I've seen from BABYMETAL, period. And I am utterly hooked on ECB, now.

Honestly, I think they always just dress accordingly to the song's content, because if you watch all their videos, they look and dress differently in each. I would expect next video will be something we don't really expect. That's what they do really, imo. I wouldn't say it's a new direction. Look at their last release a few months prior, it was one of their craziest and heavier songs. Thx for the reaction! Hope these girls base grow more and more, they deserve it.

Chika has been with the band now for just over a year. This song is a different speed from usual but still a banger. it gets stuck in my head all the time. I dont think this is a new direction but one of the many directions they can pull from in the future. I seen them live last week and they were incredible.

You will LOVE EC if you like this. The hype and the heavy mix id their trademark. People will leave lots of good suggestions for somebody their more silly songs/outrageous videos , but if you want to see them doing serious but still with insane energy, Parasite is my personal fave

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 🤣. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍 Is it just a coincidence that the two bands are to perform on the same days in the same places in several European festivals in June ? Just FYI, BABYMETAL also performed "Brand New Day" with Scott and Tim from POLYPHIA in the festival. That was beautiful and soothing. (You reacted to that song a year ago.)

If you want to jump into EC, try Tekkno Train and Parasite. Very different but I think they are show both sides of the band. But overall, you won't get disappointed by EC. But keep Hurrikan for later, it's very unique and might be to much as a starter. 😅😁 Oh and if you want more collaboration dip into all the Hypa Hypa versions 🤟
