Those little darlings! Happy Beltane to all. Every school should have their own dance troupe and do a Maypole dance every year. What fun that is to see!!

@@merccadoosis8847 Well, if it is that's because it has been appropriated by the neo-pagans. Historically in Britain the maypole was only found in England or areas of English influence. It is the traditional 'symbol' of May Day. Beltane is an Irish fire festival found in Ireland and areas in Britain where there was Irish influence. The maypole is not traditional to Ireland and has no relevance to Beltane. See Professor Ronald Hutton's history of the British ritual year 'Stations of the Sun'. See 'The Oxford Dictionary of English Folklore'.
