Shooting blanks is not how you test fire a weapon.. But atleast yoy know not to fire live rounds thru a weapon that has or had rust damage in the barrel.. You can save a weapon with rust. But a weapon like that? No way, it will be the most unsafe and unreliable weapon to fire. Smallest bit of rust in a weapons firing chamber wil cause the casing to get stuck or weapon might explode in your face saw it with my own eyes.. So sorry mate i call bullshit but good one firing blanks...

With all that pitting on the outside, I assume the barrel would have similar on the inside. Is it really safe to fire even after a restoration? I would assume reboring might make it safer, but that didn't happen here.

So cool!! I really envy your abilities, it seems such fun doing these works of restoration. One remark though; painting job masks the work done in cleaning and polishing, hides the grooves left (which i think is kind of cool - ads uniqueness and personality to the equipment), and makes it hard to fully compare the gun before and after restoration. (And besides, imho, guns look much cooler in their natural metallic colors)

Cool video, but unless I’m wrong all found firearms have to be reported to police which is a felony crime if you don’t and use them your self so here’s what it comes down to either you own the firearm and committed a felony by burring it and leaving it in the ground where it could of been taken and used by a bad person or you don’t own the firearm and you failed to report it to the police when you found it, in which case you’ve shot your self in the proverbial foot because you committed very serious felony crimes either way. Very foolish.
