Yup, had the same shit happen when taking off the plenum of a 1989 Camaro Iroc Z. The Torx was stripped from the previous owner and we tried everything, eventually just knocked the head of the Torx off, grinder a flat surface and used an easy out. Set the project back a whole day bc we didn’t have proper tools 😭

Hi again, just a quick one. I've just split the casings on my old RM465 and this magneto rotor is not budging at all. Did you use a tool to remove yours or did it just slide out? I'm going to need a tool to remove this thing in order to completely split these and get the crank out. Regards Gaz

i have one that i plan to dissasemble then machine a gear and timing chain system for so i can do a govenor removal with a flathead piston and billet flywheel for a racing motor

They like to heat up and only when temp maxes out the fan kiks in. In summer they could heat up so much that the gas was boiling in the tank

Had one of these with the full panel set on it. Windshield etc etc.

Well this isint exactly a mod you just threw a pipe and carb on what you can do for under 100 bucks is open up your intake and exhaust and shave the head for extra bang for your buck they also do sell racing parts for flathead brigs

That clutch assembly is pretty nice. May make the rest of the gearing easier. No need for a large sprocket on the axle. Only bad thing about using RTV is that you have less endplay for the output shaft than you would have with a gasket. Other than that it doesn't matter. If i knew the clutch pack was serviceable and parts were available I would use trans fluid.

Valve Springs, If you don't have a spring compressor I use an open end spanner aided with a flat head screw driver, place spring and seat on top of the spanner insert into cavity drop valve in maneuver seat into place on valve use screwdriver to hold in place remove the spanner and your done.
