Music changed so much from 1960 to 1974. In 1974, a fourteen year old song was an "oldie" already!

I was very young when I heard this song. There was so much soul in this I just assumed they were a black group. Love this song.

Being from irie Pennsylvania it was only about 80 miles down the road to get to Pittsburgh back in the early 60s. We went down to see these guys at least a dozen times or more. They were just fabulous at the time that whole area produced a lot of great singers loo Christie the skyliners in DEL Shannon so many more. It's a shame the kids of today. Don't have this music to listen to. It would be a whole lot better country.

As the story goes, when the Skyliners were booked at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, few in the audience knew they were white. Concert goers were apprehensive and reserved at first, but by the time the crescendo came, Janet Vogel hit those glorious highs, and Jimmy belted his string of "You-oo, you-oo's" , women jumped up and rushed the stage, in an emotional and appreciative sign of complete and absolute acceptance. If you remember and love this era's music, it was a wonderful time to be alive.

Definitely one of the top 5 doowop groups of all time. When Jimmy Beaumont was younger, he could sing any lead with the best of them. And their harmonies were just incredibly perfect, not to mention that they wrote and sang some of the most beautiful tunes ever! They were marvelous and uniquely special, and the beautiful music they made still lives on even six decades later.

In 1960, I was 18 years old, and had just graduated from High School, and secured a position as a secretary in a law office. Years later, I went to college, majored in Latin and taught Latin in an all-girls Catholic High School. ad astra per aspera (to the stars through hard work.) One of my favorite Latin sayings.
