A very good video. I am thinking of purchasing that model and these things are good to know. TYFP!

к мультимензуре быстро привыкаешь? если играть на нескольких и один из них с ней тяжело перестраиваться?

I find it surprisingly intuitive, I switch between multiscale and conventional 34" and 35" basses and have never had any problems adapting. In a way I'd say that multiscale feels more natural, since the scale length sort of follows both the positions of the hands and the gauges of the strings.

I found great advice on Reddit: to get rid of the bass body’s tilt, you don’t need to add an extra strap pin lower - you just need to get a wide bass guitar strap! I did so and there is no more tilt when my EBH1505ms is on me.

How wide a strap? Thanks

Mine is 6 cm wide and hard to twist.

I have read on forums that quite often, Ibanez place the monorail bridges too far back, which means that when setting up the intonation, it's possible that the saddles need to go really far towards the bridge pickup in order to achieve proper intonation. Was this the case with this bass ?
@manskampe17344 ай бұрын
No, mine has some margin in both directions. I guess that could depend on the type of strings you vs the manufacturer use, gauge and core, if they are tapered and so on. No issues on mine, anyway. 🙂

The bridge pickup with added bass sounds great and cutting, whereas the neck pickup sounds muddy on the B. The B string has a lot of funny harmonics.

Hi, Thanks for the review. I'm deciding between the ehb and the sr1355b. Do you still have the ehb1505? Have you had any other issue up to now? The position that you've pit the second button ,it's on the narrower location,is it secure,will it not rip out with time? Thanks
@manskampe17346 ай бұрын
Yes, still have it, no other issues so far. I also got the EHB1506MS, and put a second straplock on that aswell. Works fine, just make sure to drill the hole centered and straight. 🙂

I just bought the ehb1505def and there are few few hair line cracks on the fingerboard. They say its normal because of the panga panga wood. Does yours have these? Thanks.

I would say 'ergonomics' sucks.

I have the short scale version and I really agree about the strap button issue and more comfort if not so tilted to the body.

hey hi, i have a questions if you dont mind, you said you have the short scale, which length did you get? 32 or 33 etc? thanks before hand brother

As you know the "E" in EHB stands for ergonomic. Beyond striving for great sound, they were also focused on making it better contoured and balanced based on the human body. They likely did averages of the human body, averages of what "body types" would be interested in this kind of bass (and the likely playing styles and postures); then designed something tailored to the mean. But even that level of planning and calculation isn't going to come up with something "perfect" for everyone. When you view the butt end square-on and look at where the strap connector is, you'll see it is lodged in the meaty center of a triangle. This is where the body has the most integrity and stability for that end of the guitar. Having herded engineers in a previous life, when I look at where you put your second connector, it has less integrity on that thin portion of wood. Less integrity in this case with other factors considered is probably fine. If you were going to be "shredding" in a metal band while slam dancing, I'd be concerned and would suggest a more robust and engineered installation. Thanks for posting this review, I've just received my EHB1005SM. I 'm scouring the internet for setup tips and tricks and found this very helpful... Though I wouldn't say they "suck" out of the box. Cheers.

Thanks for your comment! The geometry, weight and balance is seriously ergonomic and I am sure that the slight tilt towards the body is great for some players, just not for me. Where I placed the second lower strap button there is plenty of wood, I am confident that it will work fine for my needs. And, as I have mentioned before, the somewhat clickbait headline is intended as a friendly nod to Scott Devine. 🙂

This bass sucks because of strap pin placement and saddle screws length? Those two HUGE issues must have made it completely unplayable and destroyed its sound!

Do they give you a torque spec for the head end string attachment screws. I am considering a headless Ibanez bass.
@manskampe1734 Жыл бұрын
I've never seen one... However, this is my third bass with the same type of screw in string locks, and I've never had any problems. I just tend to tighten until the string stays in place, without overtightening and potentially breaking something.
