Hi, hi. Love the video of your dolls dressed for Spring. Tighten Crissa yourself. I thought it was difficult. The KZfaq videos are great. In looking at your video. I bought one of your dolls😊 Thanks! I began collecting AGD's in June 2023. Most were bought second hand. I've only sent one to the doll hospital. I love what they did. I have a 26 that nose is scuffed, not bad. Will probably send her to the hospital. 😊

I totally agree with you. Just stay in the concept and love for these dolls. Young and old are doll lovers. My Mother-in-law has a doll she got at garage sale. She dresses her all up in all kinds of outfits depending on the season. She has tubs full of clothes for her doll, she is 83. Her doll is not an AG doll. There are guys who post videos of their collections. There is no politics or gender references. My daughter and I (and I say I) love these dolls. I have sewn bedding, built a cardboard fireplace, printed photo shoots, and have a stocking with each girls name on them with a toy inside....19 of them. By the way first timer!!!!

the injection of politics into the community has always acted as a barrier to entry for me. it's just extremely divisive... very assuming as well, everyone believing they hold the 'correct' opinion and should be echoed. I feel like those who intertwine their politics with their hobby should have an understanding that pushing political agendas, no matter what the beliefs are, is *not* the intent of the broader community and keep those things to their close friends. It's kind of a case of 'knowing your audience'. Like, we're all coming together to enjoy dolls. point blank period. it feels like a bait-and-switch of sorts to insist everyone partake in political discourse/activism when that is literally not why anyone is here lol. for many, hobbies in general are a calming escape from the harsh real world. why do some people insist on bringing such grim topics into such a lighthearted outlet? it's beyond me. to each their own, but people should keep it to themselves... i could go on! also... I just joined AGIG and i don't even know what's going on but there's 'drama' about people 'copying' each other's photos? so i'd say that's a problem...people are very protective over their expression of the hobby. when some people see others doing something similarly to them, they get very defensive. i didn't expect this if i'm honest! the dolls are all mass produced and everyone is influenced by the same real-life trends. of course, people will have similar dolls, clothes, outfits, photo angles, editing styles. it's not a unique intellectual property to dress a doll a certain way or change their wig or sew trendy clothing for dolls, etc... but people wanna act like it is. whack! lol

Politics tend to be one of the main reasons I don't see myself ever trying to participate with the community. Another is really extreme negativity. For instance, I get that people are still upset over the Kaya face sculpt drama but I enjoy the boy dolls and I don't wanna hear about how me or my dolls are terrible because of it. And I don't wanna get an earful about J.K. Rowling every time there's a store update. I'd rather enjoy AG for what it is and have fun.

I agree that the AG community needs to work on keeping things more focused on AG related stuff…not politics etc lol Also, I like when AG influencers acknowledge my comment but I don’t feel any kind of way about it if they don’t. Lastly, I only try to negotiate price if the platform has a “make an offer” option, or if the seller says it’s negotiable :) Interesting video, thanks for sharing!

Another big creator Ag_4allages is also very sweet we are friends and I enjoy hanging out with her and helping her when and if she needs it! Also agoverseasfan is super sweet I really want to meet her in person. I’m just throwing examples of creators who will not ignore your existence. Agoverseasfan may not always reply to comments but she does randomly like people’s photos that’s what I like about her! Also I want to say I think you’re amazing I just know you’re going to be well known in this community!

I am not really in the community anymore because I don't really collect now but one big reason for that is I hate the community. There is many reasons but one thing I hate is fans changing their minds about something because it 'wasn't the way they want it' so then spending all their time not accepting it or hating on it. Take Gabriela for example, People begged for years and years for a doll with a disablity/ and or/ a dark skinned GOTY doll. AG listened to that and gave us Gabriela who had both, but no-one liked her as she wasn't what they had wanted so they didn't buy her and hated on her from day one. I get it, she was a redressed #46 and we all know she was changed last minute as it was supposed to be Tenney (or so I have heard) but all it did was tell American Girl people were not going to buy their dark skinned GOTY dolls with a disablity and not to listen to their fans because when they do they are just going to bash it and decide they don't like it anyway. There are still people who pretend Gabriela doesn't exist, and that is honestly sad. People apparently don't like Evette now for not been dark enough, but I guarantee if she was darker people would complain about that too.

Something that has caused me to distance myself from the community is how difference of opinion is no longer accepted. People will put this information in their bios, stating their religion, their health diagnosis, their gender identity, their political stances, the music they listen to, etc. Like what? It implies that if you don't accept these things or share in it, you aren't accepted here. I've been in this community for ten years. Back in the 2014 era, it was just about a mutual love for liking dolls and respecting each other for having the courage to be your true self. We used to help each other deal with the judgement that comes with being an adult that likes dolls. Now, people act like the doll collecting is normal. Which is great and all, but as someone who gets judged by everyone in my life for it, it makes me feel so alone. I used to have friends in the community who shared in my struggles, but they've since left the community. Every single one of them. And while I still get joy from making content, it's missing that magic. I've since been apart of one group chat, and it was all about sharing your own posts and getting the most likes. People are missing the point of the doll community! In the ten years I've been on agig I've never surpassed 300 followers, but you won't catch me crying over it. I get wanting that creativity to be recognized, but if you're looking for fame in the doll community, you're in the wrong place. I hate that I have to avoid certain accounts based on their bios. I won't share my personal beliefs on anything, because that's an extremely dangerous thing to do thanks to toxic cancel culture. I'm just here to share my love for dolls, I don't need anyone to come for me. But I have seriously considered leaving agig at times. That usually happens when I try to start a conversation with someone and it turns bad because they want to know what my certain beliefs are and I don't care to share, so they assume the worst.

I agree with pretty much all you said in this video! It's so annoying whenever bigger creators act like you don't exist just because of your subscriber count but they respond to other bigger creators. I also agree that nothing rude or controversial should be said on these doll accounts, like were here because we want to hear about dolls, not politics, not anything else. The AG community is supposed to help you get away from the real world. That's why I don't like to post anything political or controversial on my account, it starts a ton of useless drama that doesn't help anyone. Thanks for making this video!

My biggest pet peeve everrrr is when ppl try to gatekeep other peoples collections and try and tell other people what to do with their dolls and how their collection should be.

I don't think it a good thing to rate AG dolls, even your own collection. Your going to hurt someone's feelings by doing so. I do respect everyone's poinion, but maybe if we stay away from the negativity, it won't attract more. I know these videos do well, but honestly, I don't get it. Thank you allowing honest comments.
