It was extremely helpful, thank you! I just bought a ab-used rental saw and tried using in for a first time. The chain was cutting very slow and literally burning wood. I also make a powder and not chips ( I didn't realize that until I watched your video) . Then I looked close on teeth working edge and it made me laugh, they are so bad, dull, chipped and bent. I have no idea how people were able using it before me.. New chains are ordered. Thanks again.

Will this work for Homelite saw heads (C models)? Have a bunch of STIHL bars, but only Homelite and Husky saws. Thanks. Take care.
@mitchzenobitrees10 күн бұрын
Cannon bars are set to the Stihl bar stud size, but they have an adapter so they can be used on Husqvarna saws. I'm not sure what mount the Homelite takes, but if your husky bars fit on it, it'll work.

Best bar available imho - very accurate and precise cuts. They are more expensive than other bars however the quality/service life is far superior to anything else available. Im running a 20” supermini on a 562xp with ps63 3/8 .05 lo pro chain and an added bonus is the 17% increase in cut speed/production over the standard Husqvarna 3/8 .05 c83 (which is a very fast chain out of the box btw). I haven’t tried the RS23 .325 that Mitch is running - I would imagine both give similar performance - the .325 is a bolt on setup whereas the p63 needs a drive sprocket ⚙️ turned down to give the correct pitch - fortunately I have a lathe and the tooling to machine wear resistant ( read HARDENED) steel. My only question is if the smaller chassis will hold up under the added hp/torque of a 60cc saw … so far so good , time will tell 👍
@Mightycaptain12 күн бұрын
So what chain do you run with it? Custom loop?
@mitchzenobitrees12 күн бұрын
I run Stihl 23RS at 98 links.
@fabzacres-blackcat11 күн бұрын
You can also run 3/8 .05 lo pro however you have to machine a sprocket to get the correct pitch. I bought a 100’ roll of ps63 a few years back so that’s what I’m using - as long as you have the correct .050 bar you can run either 23RS .325 or PS 63 3/8 lo pro. Just get the correct tip , .325 drive sprocket and 23RS chain - To run ps63 you need a machined drive sprocket ⚙️ a loop of ps63 and the correct tip - easy peasy and they cut quite nicely. Going from 3/8 .050 c83 (which is probably the fastest outta the box chain) to either chassis you p/u quite the gains in cutting speed ! 😉

I have been sayin this for a while but some people thought i was an idiot. Lol I first noticed how my 290 cut faster than my 362. Both 20's just .325 on the 290 and 3/8 on the 362. Same idea as everyone switching from 3/8p to 1/4" or the mini .325 on top handles. Great to see a video on it!!!

Run the stihl in this exercise until it runs out of fuel. Then do the m18. Cut time isn't nearly as important as run time. I want the m18 for yard use and off-roading but not if I get 10 cuts and it's dead. We spent hours last weekend clearing windfall. Lots of wet poplar and birch, some Jack pine. I have 3 stihl's and 2 are nice and small. Is fuel/oil/noise worth a new m18?

Tighten your chain
@mitchzenobitrees16 күн бұрын
Why would you think it's loose?
@jeremylunning65416 күн бұрын
@@mitchzenobitrees the only way saw dust can get under the chain is if it's loose enough that the guide can come out and create a gap between the bar and valley of the guide. The only time I've had this issue is when I continue a cut knowing my chain needs adjusted a little tighter. Short answer, experience.
