I’m not an expert but you should be good. Take this with a grain of salt but people use gen 2 heads because they flow the best, however since you have a gen 3 long block you should be able to just slap gen 1 timing components and call it a day.
@Oxman_Garage

I would do 3-2-1. Gen3 shortblock, gen2 heads, gen1 timing components. The gen2 heads were developed around the 302 Boss coyote and flow similar. Make sure you get some oil pump gears and arp hardware. Can't go wrong, you're already there.

I have a mark viii going to be doing similar build to yours but with a standard 5.0 coyote / aje k member and manual steering. Will be following your build for sure! Oxman, I like this build. I’m thinking of doing the same thing since I have that same Husky. Only difference is I’ll probably do a .75 inch plywood top. Any idea what the height is on your bench before you added the 2x6 top boards? So basically the height to the top of your 2X4 cross member? I know you had to add spacers which obviously raised it. I just want to make sure that since it needs to be tall enough to fit the 30 inch tall husky, that when accounting for the other lumber, it won’t end up too tall for me. Basically, since I don’t know how high up the bottom cross member 2x4 sits above the ground on the Simpson, even when screwed in to it’s lowest position on the 4x4, that’s what could throw my calculation off. Figured I’d ask a guy who has done it. Thanks!

Summit says 103 ft lbs, back off 1/4 turn, then 74 ft lbs.....alldata says, 103 ft lbs, loosen 360 degrees, torque to 74 ft lbs after that, then go 90 degrees. Im worried about that. I'm trying to follow all of the instructions but i just feel like that's too much. Can you let me know which one is right?

@@Oxman_Garage awesome thank you man. Slapped it all back together and it runs like new. Followed alldata originally but finding your video gave me such peace of mind with physically seeing how you had it lined up compared to mine with the timing marks. One thing I can definitely say to anyone is use the proper tool for that crank pulley. I tried to using the install bolt from MMR and didn't have much luck unfortunately. Not sure if it was just me or if there was something I was doing wrong or what. Started feeling way too tight as I brought it in, I stopped and decided to rent the tool, lucky I did because when I took the MMR bolt out, it seemed it was trying to strip the threads either on the bolt or in the crank a little. Saw like 1 or 2 metal shavings. Rented the OEM tools balancer installer tool and it went on like butter. Barely had to use force, I guess because all of the force is applied to the nut and not rotating in the threads of the crank.

Put six lengths(2 runs of three) up end to end directly on the" tuba eights" on my unfinished garage loft ceiling rafters.Mounting screws suck, get better ones. They're very soft and tend to strip out even with a good fitting driver bit. The hard wire plugs they give you are too short to wire into a box so i cut the wall plug ends off of the wires with the switch and just hardwired those into the work box and mounted the two switches overhead for easy access close to the start of each run and can use them to have one run on and the other off if i choose. Tons of light now, works very good and inexpensive. Nice video. Thanks !
