Question. How long does this passive balancer take to balance 280 ah cells. i have been waiting 20 hours and they are still not balanced. Should the balancer have time to balance the cells before the next start of battery discharge?

Hi Sir, passive balancer current should be very smaller, balancing current, battery cell capacity and balancing time, if your battery cells volt differ is bigger, then add a active balancer will be better

Top or bottom balance before starting assemble, set your voltage range for charge and discharge to 10% to 90% of the final values check in a day, a week, a month once everything is balanced set it to your final values. off grid garage said that his packs often took 7 to 20 days to reach equilibrium. an active balancer will be able to tell you if one of your cells is under performing. If you can't easily get a new cell, you can supplement your low cells with some 18650 (or smaller) cells (of the same chemistry) to bring them in line. Just wire the supplemental batteries in parallel with the low cell. Going over capacity to the rest of the pack is safer than going under capacity, you just need to lower the top voltage of the pack to accommodate the reduced voltage of the over capacity cell.

I would never use a battery like this till it had a breaker and class-T fuse. A JK Inverter BMS would be better as well as they have every function you could want now.
