In regard to Nissan's VC-turbo engines; it is not under investigation. It is in before-investigation phase, meaning that it may, or may not turn into investigation. This is basically information gathering phase. So far nothing came out of it, even though the process was started last year.

I see Nissan’s all over the road, not on the side of the road. CR just doesn’t like the brand. They love Toyota because they’ve gone to banger turbos, that do help with gas mileage and have numerous hybrid options.

Ever since Nissan merged with Renault their quality has gone down the toilet. Nissan is no longer the great car company it was in the 90s. Their VQ engine was not terrible but not great but their JATCO transmissions are utter trash. Why buy a subpar Nissan when you can get something thats known to be reliable like a Toyota?
@MrJestylerКүн бұрын
Renault saved Nissan from bankruptcy however have completely ruined the brand reputation. They just hobble along never getting back to pre-Renault days.

My mother in law owns a subaru ascent 2021 and it has been the biggest pile of crap, transmission already went out, AC went out, and has had all kinds of cosmetic issues. My sisters 2016 Kia Sorento V6 has been much more reliable
@darkrulierКүн бұрын
@@jibrilthegreat35 it may be the Ascent model itself. I have owned all kinds of Subaru, from a 1987 Subaru GL to a 2017 STI, including Forester and Impreza and they have all been nothing but reliable to me. As for your CVT, there was a recall to fix a wiring harness issue that may damage the transmission itself.

Nissan is probably the biggest disappointment. I used to own Maxima about 15 years ago, and it was one of the best cars I've ever owned . However, in the last 10-11 years, Nissan has been producing unreliable cars.
@donaldwilson26202 күн бұрын
The main reason why Nissan went downhill the last 10-15 years: unreliable Jatco CVT transmission from the early to late 2010's, especially on the Sentra and Altima. The CVT's from Honda, Subaru, and Toyota have proven to be much better.

Am beginning to get bored with you guys videos. What’s up with the hate on Nissan? Why are you guys kinda biased towards them? What’s with the hate? When ever I see your recent videos, and it’s about top 10 I always know you guys must made mention of Nissan. Have been using both Nissan and Toyota cars all my life, but I feel more safe driving in my Nissan car (2015 altima 2.5dl) than my glorified 2009 highlander sport. My highlander visit the mechanic shop more often than my Nissan. The Nissan currently has 302k kilometers on it, the car was imported from Canada. If I see people saying things about Nissan online, also on your videos, am always surprised. Have never heard any of those issues. Well nice videos. But stop the hate on Nissan. No car brand is bad , no car brand is good. It’s a matter of choice and your mindset.
@Nobody-ls1cl2 күн бұрын
Well, most their hate for Nissan is directed towards the lack of power and drive train which I feel is justified. Their CVT transmissions just aren't good, I formerly owned a Nissan and the CVT died after 8 months. (It was a used car, but only 70k miles)

Starting out with a brand new Beamer makes this list null and void. Just because CR says they are the most recommended doesn’t make them the most reliable. Reliability isn’t crowned in one model year. If all of these SUVs on here aren’t at the very least 5 yrs old then why bother. The top 10 most reliable SUVs all probably have a Honda or Toyota name attached to them. I don’t need a video to tell me that, I just need to drive to the grocery store.
