Hi Richard, thank you .....I m here little panicking :), ordered my Karate Gi and it s way to long for me ....was looking here of ways to shrink it....so wish me good luck :)...will be back with results :)

Will my gi shrink if it’s a polycotton blend? My gi is slightly too big too and I’m scared to damage it with a hot cycle

Honestly I don't know how polyester behaves with heat, I'd suggest a 60 degree wash to shrink the cotton element or a normal wash then tumble dry to see what happens??

100% polyester?

No its 100% cotton at quite a thick gauge - the label on the suit calls it cotton canvas.

i ordered a CIMIC 180cm GI 52% Polyester and 48% Cotton do you have any tips on how to shrink it

Ghengis Khan - Hi my Gi is 100% cotton canvas and I got my results at 60 degrees so I think it would be best to contact the manufacturer as the polyester may affect the results if you do the same

Polycotton doesn't shrink, I am heavy size and my suit I ordered is 210cm I have to get cotton so I can shrink and get it polycotton suit cut down to size at the Taylors
