I am fairly sure they don't sell them anymore, but second hand there should still be some around. It's a Habitat Constanza table lamp, found mine on ebay a few years ago. Good hunting.

Does the rain gauge update instantly? Or is there a delay?

I think it's updated every five minutes, most likely a balance to save on battery life vs being every xx amount of seconds which would use a lot more power.

some double sided adhesive patches would make this alot easier...stick it to the side of it and attach to the wall.

Indeed, I did consider this, but there was nowhere close enough to do so, and sticking it to the painted wall isn't a look I could except. I possibly could have stuck it to the side of the monitor, but still didn't like the idea of doing that. I figured if I couldn't 'hide it' then I'd make it stand out.

If you are using Windows to setup the Weather Station you need to connect the base station with the USB cable to you PC, I do not believe Bluetooth connection is supported on PC, alternatively you can use a smartphone to compete the setup. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I think almost anything would do, tablet wise, it's a easy dashboard for Netatmo, plus anything else you want to put on there.

I don't think these are Bluetooth compatible like some of the bulbs, so you would need a Hue bridge.

I like the modular approach, you don't get a lot of sensors in the base package, but can add on as you feel "the urge" 🙂 Cheers 👍

Indeed, I feel the base package is enough, then you can decide what you want from it in the future, more indoor modules (like I have) or outdoor rain and wind gauges. Of course you can have it all, but it's nice to be able to build it up as you go.

What was your solution for the display remaining on at all times? my old Nexus seven tablet always wants to dim the display or power off. I have it staying on right now but the display dims quite a bit

You need to active 'Developer options', basically keep pressing 'Build number' in settings until you get a message you are a developer, then go back to settings and there is a 'Developer options' setting, go into there and select 'Stay Awake', now when connected to power the screen will stay on. Hope this helps.

Depends what you're using it for, I've got one behind the TV and it works well, if you wanted to use it for a whole room, then yes more would be good.

One should be plenty for a general back light, obviously if you want to use sync and have different colours on each side you'd need more than one.

Yes, the beauty of this solution is that you can mix and match any widgets, so a clock widget could easily be added.

Thanks for the review. I bought one recently. It all works as expected. Except that the batteries that came with weather station lasted only a few days. I changed the batteries a few days ago. The battery indicator on the browser shows now only one short green bar on external module and will soon need replacing again. How long does the battery on your external module last? How long are the batteries expected to last on Netamo modules?

I'm glad it was helpful to you. I have heard of some people having issues with extreme battery usage, my only guess is the external module might be in a place where it is using more power to send its signal and has increased battery use. I don't have any use issue and mine last about 4-6 months on average. If it continues I could suggest maybe returning and trying a replacement.

You need to use the app or a something that has a Web browser to access the weather station info. A slight alternative is to use an old tablet and display the info on there all the time, see my other Netatmo video for a how to.

Thanks for this. I was using an RPi4 displaying WordPress with NetAtmo plugin, but this seems much better. Planning on trying Emteria to get Android on the Pi4.

That sounds an interesting idea, I didn't know that was a thing, would be cool to get working though, let me know how it goes. For me the simplicity of using an old tablet and widgets for this was just too easy, had previously used an separate weather station app linked to Netatmo, but the app was too much for what I needed, simple was the way forward for me.

I know, I find it strange as its something I think a lot of people would go for, just being able to see the weather station without having to open the app would be a big plus, most other weather stations have this as standard.
