Thank you so much for your advice. I'm going to have an internship interview in the next couple of days. It's a biology lab that focuses on molecular biology. I made it through the first round. I'm going through the final round of selection. Do you think the interview committee will ask me to tell them a little bit about myself? If so, what advice you have to respond to that question.

Thank you so much for this video!!! It was amazing! How ever I have a questions. I’m working on my GPA right now. But I am a very dedicated person. Do you think my GPA will stop me from being accepted as a research assistant?

Hi Niya, In my experience, graduate students don't usually ask about your GPA. They may ask about how hectic your class schedule is or if you've taken the professor's course, but as long as you are in good academic standing, the lab will likely leave the decision up to you. The first quarter you work in the lab, I recommend taking a slightly lighter schedule than usual if you can just so you don't have too much stress/pressure. A good lab will be very supportive of both your academic and career goals. I have also seen students take a quarter/semester break from the lab to boost their GPA and then come back to the lab!

Hi!! Thanks for the great video!! I have a bit of a different situation! I was just offered an undergraduate research assistant position by a former professor that I did not apply for! He reached out to me and asked if I was interested and if I wanted to meet with him to discuss my suitability and availability! What should I do for the interview in this case? Should I follow the same procedure? I dont have any previous research experience at all and he did not ask for my resume!

Hi Elsa, I am so sorry for the delay. I would actually recommend the same things I mentioned in the video even if it's the professor who reaches out. It will show you take the lab/job seriously and want to significantly contribute. Let me know how it went!
