Great explanation! It would be great if you could talk about some of the other issues around mortgagees, around MBSs, CDOs and CDS's. a) Who ends up keeping track of (servicing) mortgages and making sure the right people are getting paid? This sounds trivial but it seems like it could become increasingly complex and expensive. When the mortgages are securitized and chopped up, etc., how can they keep all this straight? And who keeps all this straight? b) In the Big Short, they kept saying "and then the entire [bond/CDO] goes to zero." What does this mean if there are still mortgages that are not in default (which was how you showed it in this video)? c) Not explained here, but in the Big Short they talked about "synthetic CDOs" as side bets on CDOs, etc. Whose money funded those side bets? How did this affect financial markets, perhaps globally? d) Not explained here, what about the insurers who (I guess) were selling the CDSs (or buying the other side of CDSs sold by the banks)? And reinsurers. How did this work in reality? (Personal note: I lost a ton of money because I was holding the bluest or bluechip stocks at the time - AIG.)

Why we can't teach stuff like this in schools using animation like that? Our (high)schools seem more about conditioning than real education. Even many college/university degrees are not that useful, most graduates can't find a job or end up in sales no matter the major and degree they get. It seems that this tendency is all over the world, I am from Europe. Correct me if I am wrong about the jobs graduates get.

I remember when I just got into crypto back in 2019 but later in 2020 I ended up selling it because I was dumb and I didn't understand it. I studied and learned and now I know how it works. Got back into crypto early in 2023 with 10k and I’m up with 128k in a short period of time .This comment serves as motivation for all those who have invested and continue to invest in cryptocurrencies with so many losses, do not give up, cryptocurrencies can change your life. Do your best to connect with the right people and you will surely see changes.

If that's the case, the bank needs to deposit the depositor's entire amount and create the rest. That way the depositor's original deposit is not at risk. If the loan defaults, it never existed in the first place.

I am not American; I come from the other side of the world. However, I am deeply interested in America and eager to learn more about this country. To achieve this, I am learning English. I hope to understand American culture better through KZfaq, news channels, and cartoons.Unfortunately, I face a challenge. I don't know the names of many KZfaq channels, and I can't access much U.S. content from my country. I can view some popular U.S. content but not much more. Could you please provide me with the names of American news channels, KZfaq channels, cartoons, and TV shows that are suitable for a 14-year-old? I would greatly appreciate it.And also provide the name of the KZfaq channel which will be have to me to learn math and science which is taught in the United States. I am very good and very best student in the math and science and I love it. .Thank you so much! 🙏

The market trend can turn around very quickly. In fact, the indexes often switch from a bear market to a bull market when the news is at its worst and the mood of investors is at its lowest point. I read an article of people that grossed profits up to $150k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist?

In particular, amid inflation, investors should exercise caution when it comes to their exposure and new purchases. It is only feasible to get such high yields during a recession with the guidance of a qualified specialist or reliable counsel.

True, initially I wasn't quite impressed with my gains, opposed to my previous performances, I was doing so badly, figured I needed to diverssify into better assets, I touched base with a portfolio-advisor and that same year, I pulled a net gain of 550k...that's like 7times more than I average on my own.

25% unemployment means 75% were working. Guessing at least some who were doing so (especially guys with no families) saw the economy deteriorating, saved what they could and, since there was no FDIC, bought a safe (and possibly a gun for protection) in which to keep their $. Surmising these people did just fine. "History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes." - Mark Twain "Things" aren't so great these days. But those who plan & prepare ahead of time will have a better chance of financial survival.

yeah its a full time job knowing what companies are going to do well and which arnt. doing it yourself is the new thing but ive found my freinds have had little sucess in real long term gains. they focus on the day to day ups and downs and let there emotions be tied to the ups and downs. So they end up making weird or bad decisions for strange reasons. i say for the small fee investors take some of the risk out when u hire it professionally done

@Oscarfreeman-cn9rc2 күн бұрын
Yes, truly, investing in the market, even if it's just the S&P 500, can keep up with inflation, because the growth rate of stocks will always exceed the inflation rate. But if you don't have the courage, you could just invest with a financial advisor, which even has greater return on investments, while securing your investment against losses.
@OnyedikachiKing-bk6od2 күн бұрын
Keeping money in the bank is like paying banks and the Govemment. Here's how it works: The bank gives out your money as loan, and charge interest obviously higher than inflation rate, and then give you, the depositor, interest lower than inflation rate. That means net loss for you. That is why I prefer to invest, and on average, my advisor makes returns that always beats inflation!

Almost everthing seems to be written off as " Ice sheet " movement by NOAA . If the " slow down " sound happens three times a year .Does it last the same amount of time each time it happens ? If so that would lean towards some kind of uniform object moving at a high rate of speed and slowing down to a stop at the same with in the same intervals of time . This does not sound like random ice sheet movement characteriatics .SUS YO ! SUS

Loved this video...watched this after "The Big Short" and it made everything clearer. Just one nitpick. At around 19:30 we say that a 500% increase of $100 is $500. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe it should be $600 ( using % change = (new - old) / old *100 with old = 100 and % change = 500). Am I missing something?
