I have a current version and think the new wheels look awful, the headlights are not as good, the dash display shape has been ruined by squaring of the corners. What on earth were Kia thinking. The only things that really needed improving was kit levels and wireless carplay and android. What a shame.

After carefully examining the planned exterior and interior "changes" on the 2026 GENESIS GV70, all I can say is I am glad we bought our first generation 2024 GENESIS GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige. The elongated front of the 2026 GV70 looks like a BLAND TOYOTA Highlander, CAMRY, etc. All of the SPORTY, AGGRESSIVE design cues of the first generation, tat make it so visually appealing are neutered! It now looks like a generic family mobile. Love them, or hate them the 21 inch patterned rims on the first GENESIS GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige are DISTINCTLY UNIQUE! They are like nothing else on the market from ANY manufacturer. And I for one love the design. I have gotten so many unsolicited complements on how great our GV70 looks. Not once has anyone ever commented on not liking the rims... Not once. This is not the case with the new 2026 rims... they are bland, boring HONDA looking rims. They are not unique at all. But are just like what many manufacturers have been doing for years. Again, they lack STYLE elements unique to the GENESIS LUXURY SPORT BRAND. As for the rear of the 2026 GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige. The designers got rid of the large, SPORTY, round exhaust tips and replaced them with generic "mommy tips" found on every BORING, family suv from TOYOTA, HONDA, LEXUS, MAZDA, ETC... Again, the UNIQUE, SPORTY GENESIS DESIGN CUES ARE MISSING! If I wanted a TOYOYA, HONDA, LEXUS, MAZDA, That is what I would buy, not a 2026 GENESIS GV70. But I didn't, I wanted a 2024 GENESIS GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige specifically because it was, and is UNIQUELY, and STYLISHLY DIFFERENT! Regarding the interior of the 2026 GENESIS GV70. I have only one criticism. The HUGE, design less, all inclusive, HYUNDAI digital dashboard is TASTELESS and TACKEY. It also doesn't integrate well at all with the rest of the interior. It looks like a giant afterthought. Where as the existing first generation digital dashboard is seamlessly integrated into the design cues, and flow of the entire GV70 interior cabin. Even the existing additional rectangular infotainment screen tastefully fits within the interior design of the first generation GV70. With the 2026 redesign, it looks like GENESIS INTENSIONALLY got rid of most of the Sport elements from the "Sport Prestige" in order to "upsell" people wanting a truly SPORT designed GENESIS to their upcoming GENESIS GV80 Sport Coup, or where available their GENESIS GV70 MAGMA line. Both of which cost substantially more than the existing first generation 2022 - 2025 GENESIS GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige.

Great job Mari! To your other attributes (beauty, style, content presentation) you can now add track day legend. Someone already asked if oekuk-saram can attend, so I’ll ask are other cars available? Something from the Hyundai N ICE line up, preferably. I’ve done other manufacturers track days and they are great fun. If HMG make you an instructor, I’ll make the long trip up from Oz 😉

Thanks Mari for the honest review, I have driven this 25 model and will pick mine up here in Northern Ireland at the start of July 24. It is a great car to drive with enough acceleration (230 bhp in the 1.6 turbo hybrid) and handling is also superb. I was previously a big Ford driver and have a Kuga 2.5 PHEV having previously owned ST Focus's and Mondeo's. This new Hyundai was a joy to drive and as I am now in my mid 60's is just the car I need, I ain't no boy racer anymore but it does have a good bit of lift considering the weight. My recommendation is folk, take a test drive can't do any harm and that interior layout in my opinion is a great improvement as my wife has an earlier model Tuson and seeing this is changing also to the 25 N version, just my opinion as we all have different tastes and requirements, happy and safe motoring to you all....Alan

I like the Carnival. As far as having lots of 'idle' space for stuff though, I must say, my Grand Caravan wins hands down. It has two glove boxes, a super console between the two seats with a bin, the two side by side cup holders, and another bin, with each bin having a roller type cover to hide the contents if necessary. The space underneath is open and large enough for my wife to put her good sized purse in. it has another cubbie under the climate control, and a full sized drawer with additional cup holders that slides out rearwards into the 2nd row and it can hold a useful amount of stuff. The van also has small overhead storage bins and large storage bins in the floor in front of the 2nd row seats. So, lots of idle storage, without even talking about the 3rd row or the way back. So, long story short, Kia could have matched or exceeded the storage that an old school 8 year van has if they'd wanted to. I'd buy the Carnival, but I'd chose the V6, an engine that's reliable, smooth, confidence inspiring.

I rent this car of 2024 keyless diesel model for traveling in Aus and NZ(N & S island)for a total 2000km in 2 weeks. This is a spacious MPV that can take 5 passengers plus 5 28in-luggage, but I think there are 2 quality improvements required. 1 its Steering is too loose or not rigid that road conditions as something unbiased and cornering could bring the steering wheel slightly moving. 2 When leaving the car by locking the doors with remove control press, there is no smart design as automatic window shutting. I have to start the engine again and shut the windows manually.

I just realised after you said Koreans don't like the wagon design that much that I don't see almost any on the streets. Is there a reason for it or is it a question of aesthetics for Koreans?
@MotorgraphWorld
@MotorgraphWorld 15 күн бұрын
First of all, because the starting price of wagon-type vehicles is higher than sedans, consumers prefer cheaper sedans or SUVs that have wider visibility and can handle rough roads at a similar price. And as far as I know, countries where wagon-type vehicles are preferred are usually places where the average speed of vehicles is high. Some people say they don't like wagons because they are used as funeral hearses, but I don't know.

I think it’s hilarious she calls the interior compact with the front seat as far forward as it is. I’m 6’4 have a gv60 performance and my kids have about 4”more space in the back seat than the BMW 5 series I replaced it with. That’s also with me in the driver seat not feeling like I’m short of space when I had to move my seat forward with a rear seat passenger. Other vehicle is a 23 Yukon Denali and where the front seat is positioned in this video, you have more rear seat legroom than the giant SUV.

Great first look at the 2026 GV70! I’m hoping that Genesis will rethink their plans for the electrification of their fleet, especially here in the USA. Electric cars are not selling well here but I think that a hybrid could make it. The 2025 GV80 is just starting to hit the showrooms here and the MPG is pretty sorry especially with the need for premium fuel. I’m in the market and will probably go with the ‘25 GV80 but if there’s going to be a hybrid 2026 version, I’d definitely wait for it to arrive on our shores. Thank you for your hard work on this Mari & Crew!
