Rather than misogyny, what I saw in the difference between Adam and Eve was that Adam is a reflection of Satan, who has cunning and boldness (perhaps shadow virtues of contemplation and valor), while Eve is a reflection of Christ or perhaps Mary with her mercy and capital G "Grace." This may be an echo of the Troubadour tradition, where the knight would have a courtly love that he would treat as if she were a manifestation of God's Grace on Earth. Much of my reading of Paradise Lost is informed by the Silmarilion, where Morgoth has none of the antiheroic qualities of Milton's Satan, but plays a similar role in corrupting both the world and humanity. Tolkien writes that among the Valar, it is Morgoth whom Men most resemble. Both names, "Satan" and "Morgoth", translate to "Enemy" in Hebrew and Sindarin, respectively. But even before that, I could see that the fall of Man and the fall of Satan were a shared fall.

Thank you ma’am for this brilliant explanation. I wish to add on my perspective to this. Kindly consider it. It might be assumed that as in game of chess, every pawn tries to overpower another one. Similar to that life is a game of chess, both Lil and her friend are pawns of this game. In this, somewhere Lil’s friend is trying to overpower her. “HURRY UP ITS THE TIME” may symbolise that its high time to change the manners of this modern world, which has distorted humanity. The abrupt ending of both these stories in this part may represent the uncertainty of human life which has no proper ending. Unlike, the conventional stories which had fixed initial point, middle and proper ending. Modern life with wars and bloodshed is uncertain.

Ma’am first of all THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH for this series, I’ll be preparing soon and I was puzzled about my optional as there were only a few resources when it comes to English literature and if there were any they were highly expensive in my opinion and then your series came up as a life saviour and tbh since my second year in college, I have been watching your Videos and they are really really helpful, In fact I watched your series of History of English literature as well I request you to please please launch a similar series for NET Thank you so much Ma’am

Death of Phlebas of Phoenicia may symbolize the death of old traditions in the modern age. There is no chance of resurrection for the traditional and conventional ways.

I think that in the zeal of moving on from depression, Tennyson wrote this poem and sketched Ulysses as his mentor who inspires him in moving on as there's no certainty of tomorrow.

As a Muslim of indian sub-continent , Allah tallah does hold all these traits of being beneficiant as well as merciful, of being distresser as well benefactor, of the living one and the ever- lasting one, all in one. He has 99 names of different attributes. Such great lecture on Shelley, well appreciated❤

Ma'am, I read "The Picture of Dorian Gray" a few days ago and as per the knowledge I acquired from today's class, I think Lord Henry is the round static character (he had been complex throughout the novel) and whereas Dorian himself is an example of round dynamic character (as initially he was a good human being and eventually turned into a monstrous one). Am I correct ma'am? Please confirm. Thank you for this video 👍🏼

Ma'am, in any case while writing a critical appreciation of a writing if my words appear to contradict the interpretation of a scholar apparently But I tried my best to convince my teacher through my words to establish my explanation then will my explanation be considered unacceptable because they're a scholar and I am an undergraduate student? Basically I'm just showing my perspective through my words as per my understanding, it's like what is 6, is 9 from the opposite direction, I'm not opposing their explanation I'm just giving my perspective, a parallel idea of the same thing then Could it be unacceptable?
@NibblePop

Not at all. In fact if there is one scholar stating a view there are ten others stating the opposite. But it is safer to use words such as "perhaps", "it may be seen " or " one may say" and then give proof in support of your statement.

I know mam it takes a lot of time to create this kind of quality video tutorial. Yet i request you if possible will you please also give book 4 summary of paraside lost earlier than any other topic. I followed your videos since the beginning of my UG and it helped me a lot. Presently i'm in the second semester of masters and we do have book 4, if you will give book 4 next it will be of great help. Note- i commented this at the beginning of watching the video. At the end i got the assurance of getting book 4, really excited, thank you mam.😊

When it comes to the point of interpreting it from feminist point of view, we can see the wanderthrist of Ulysses as male dominance over women in patriarchal society and his desire to visit various places which are part of mother nature which can be explained as women figures and in this perspective he is almost like a voluptuous person & his visiting places are like various women and knowledge is a metaphors of fresh femine flesh which he wishes to suck their juicy essence as Rossetti's goblins did.
