@@katewelsh1285 here are more tips for the ES bed.... silhouette-secrets.com/silhouette-electrostatic-es-bed/ Keep in mind that tips for the ES bed will work for all compatible models, for instance, the tips I give for the Curio 2 would still work on a Cameo 5 ES bed. The only difference is the Cameo 5 and Portrait 2 get loaded in the machine and roll through versus the Curio 2 is a flat bed. But the ES bed concept is the same.

Sorry to hear that! I am using Solid State hard drive from Samsung now. Not only they are small and portable, they are seem to be more reliable than any other external hard drive, such as Seagate, Western Digital,that have larger storage capacity (which means-more data loss,if it fails). Also,my tip -is to have at least 2 copies of your important files on teo separate drives, so if one fails, you can always have another copy. I get my electronics from B&H, as Amazon at times may sell counterfits, and it will be very difficult to get your money back or exchange faulty electronics. I also save my pictures on DVDs,yes an old way as an extra copies.

My gripe- because it is so difficult to use their site I have been avoiding it till it gets fixed. By doing that I have lost credit dollars in my account (because of rollover limits) that I’ve paid for. Trying to get images right now is painstaking.

For me the actual, much larger issue, that nobody seems to be talking about, is that they have mixed up designs in the database. And it's been since May, and instead of closing the shop for a few days and fixing the issue, they're letting the issue get bigger by letting people buy designs that may or may not be the correct files. For example, you see a design you really like, of a baby elephant with a candle, but the description is "Background bubbles", unless you notice that, you think you're buying the baby elephant with the candle, but the designer who made the elephant won't get the money, the designer of the background bubbles get the money, and you get the background bubbles, except because it's linked to the wrong file it shows up as the baby elephant.

@@avaDesdemona yes, it's an issue as the company doing the web migration changed a lot of things that caused confusion on the backend. Silhouette Support is the only one that can fix any file issues. They will pass it on to the web developers to correct.

Silhouette "support" who took 4 weeks and never answered my question on whether or not the portrait 3 has a replaceable cutting strip ( it doesn't) and instead directed me to the replaceable cutting strip for the cameo 1-3, and took 3 weeks to understand that "I also bought the svg file for this design, but it's 0kb, and I need the svg file, can you please fix this." answering "But there's an svg file there." "yes, but it's 0kb, so it's an empty file." "yes, but it's right there." "yeah, but it's 0kb, have you tried opening the file yourself?" "no, but look, it's right there! Try downloading it again." DUDE! Also, the Auto Renew "button" on my subscription couldn't be unchecked, and support took 5 days to read my email requesting ending my subscription, renewing it in the meantime, and then took another week to give me a discount/refund on the new subscription, taking about another 3 emails back and forth. Of course now I don't even know if my subscription will auto renew because the new website doesn't tell me. I do love silhouette studio. Hands down, easiest to use software, I even bought the business package to have all features. But the support is just terrible, and honestly, I'll be happy when my current Premium subscription ends.

@@avaDesdemona I understand - Support stinks and doesn't know the right answers or how to do things. I have no control over any of it. I am not an employee of Silhouette. This is the path they've chosen to take and all I can do is continue to do what I've been doing since 2016, which is craft and teach users. There are some things I cannot fix like support or account issues.

@@SilhouetteSecrets yeah, I know. I'm sorry it came across so harsh, it wasn't really directed at you at all, you're just trying to help all of us out! and I appreciate that. I'm just pretty fed up with the bad communication they have going on, I have received two emails saying my account has been enabled (8th July and 11th July) but it's still not actually working, and I'm scared to try things out in case suddenly my 5.628 "downloaded" (in the library) designs are gone. (I am downloading them one by one off the website, but it'll take me a tiny little while *lol* I'm kicking myself because I had everything downloaded until I got a new computer and thought "Ah, I don't need to transfer all those designs, they're in the library and I never use the files on the computer..." famous last words. Save early save often!)

For instance, one video shows Print and Cut with the Curio 2, the same can be done on the Cameo 5 & Portrait 4 ES bed.

@@PoshPaperPerfection the only thing that can't be done the same as the Curio 2 on the ES bed is use a cutting mat on top. Since the Cameo & Portrait are roll through machines. But that's not necessary. Just disconnect the ES bed if you want to use a mat.

Hi! I need to know how to calibrate how my machine cuts. I'm just cutting basic vynil, and the cut is about 1/2" above the top edge of the vynil, cutting into my mat margins. I can't find any info anywhere! I'm having to move my vynil up into the margins or move the design down...but sometimes it actually works properly after I have made those adjustments...making this a hit and miss situation. Please help!!! I am getting ready for a show!❤

@@KarenLeanneCreates2024 are you using a Silhouette cutting mat? 3rd party cutting mats are not the same size margins as a Silhouette mat. Silhouette machines are calibrated specifically to the margins on a Silhouette cutting mat and load to the exact location of the top left corner of the cut area on a Silhouette cutting mat. If using a Silhouette cutting mat, make sure you have a mat set on the Page Setup panel.

It started working better this evening, Although I noticed the arrow controls on the machine don't do anything except feed the mat in and out. I am getting my files, and managed to get the cuts done today! Thanks for your help and videos!

First I am appalled that people are yelling at you. You are an Affiliate not an employee. So shame on them. When you download are you renaming and sorting by types backgrounds or subjects birthday, animals etc? At the moment I can see most of my library files. I have been direct downloading in a file labeled sil backup but is in no order just file numbers since I never planned on needing. I just bought a new computer so hopefully my library won’t go away. As far as you know I can add the computer and see my account and look and sort to find files one at a time using the new tip. Thank you for all the info you provide for us♥️

@sandywootten6792 Currently, there are no affiliates. The programs were all removed with the website migration. We were not informed of that change, and we ate told, someday the program will come back... but all that means is that if someone uses one of my links to purchase, I may get a small commission. That's it - that all the program is or was. Someday, I expect the library to sync properly. For right now, I'd recommend renaming the files and sorting in whatever manner works for you, and you'll know where to find things. That can be different for all users. The only way to know of the new computer will sync properly is to try it. I would still keep your other computer working offline, just in case.

@RTCDigitalS yes. If you had an Auto Sheet Feeder before the Cameo 5 was released, you would need a new connector plate from Silhouette and would need to contact Silhouette if in the U.S. and if outside the U.S., contact your retailer where you bought the Sheet Feeder.

Thank you Elly Mae! Your explanation was very heart felt. I'm so sorry that people are so irritated with you. Their ignorance is showing through. I'm a long time Cameo user. I think back to 2014. I really appreciate the fine work that you and the other experts on the Facebook page have been doing. I'm a hobbyist, not someone making money with this machine, but I have backed up my files for years and keep many of them offline. Like you I don't worry about what I have purchased from Silhouette because I can re-download those files if I need to. I hope you take time for yourself and your family because this too shall pass.

I have seen the electrostatic mat for portrait 4 is available for purchase on the silhouette website and I've been eyeing it for at least a month. I am curious why I haven't seen any tutorials or videos or that it is still "coming soon" unless it's related to shipping? However there is options for second day shipping so it doesn't seem that it would be a pre-order purchase. Do you know anything about it? Thanks!

The Electrostatic Bed for the Portrait 4 arrived and was released for sale on May 24, 2024. This is why there is not much out there on it. It is the exact same as the Electrostatic bed for the Cameo 5 model and functions the same as the Curio 2. Those of us who already have information out there on the Cameo 5 using the Electrostatic bed are not going to buy another ES bed just to put out information that is the exact same just with a different machine. While I have a Portrait 4, I don't see the need to spend the money to get an ES bed for it as well as the ones I already own. Hi EllyMae. My account shows I have been offline since 5/6/24 and that I am signed in. I can pull any design into my design mat whether it is a silhouette studio file or something I myself added to my library. Every design has either a circled green check or a circled green lock. Am I golden and just continue to stay offline. I have been scared to try anything different.

@pambetts4425 yes! I reported issues that the pop-up doesn't work, and in some cases, it's removing the software entirely on the computer. Always click later and download any updates directly from the website.

You can try to register it now or just skip that part and get on to using the machine. The registration is for the 1 year warranty which starts from the date of purchase.... and it triggers the free designs with machine which are not always coming through right now with all the issues..... but you can skip that step and still setup and use the machine.

Hi, thank you for sharing this video. After calibrating perfectly and exiting the page to proceed with the actual print and cut, the cut lines are still off. How can I fix this issue?

@seng9670 There isn't a button that specifically says "download" on the files. You go into your account - log in. On the left select downloads. On each file that shows up, click the photo and it will download.
