This live performance kicks ass really. I've done live myself and I know how it it, always something happening which makes it so humbling, and exciting at the same time, there were no mistakes here because they all knew what to do in case something goes wrong to make it seem like it was part of the act, I love when Page booms his head on the beat to get the drums with him when they didn't start, I love Plant's sense of humour mimicking his guitarist partner and keeping the audience entertained as if nothing's serious in life and you gotta have fun, I love the fact that Phil flew right from England to be part of this legendary event, it's rock 'n roll man, that's what it's all about, chilling out and having fun. If you didn't tell me about all the mistakes I wouldn't have even seen them. What I've learned by doing live is when you make a mistake you just shut up about it, there's a big chance the people didn't even notice. 😉

It takes two great drummers to fill Bonhams shoes. He was the greatest. RIP. JB. You are missed.

That was one hell of a summer for music in 1985. I remember being in front of the tv for most of the afternoon and evening. I was 19.

having heard many Led zep concerts having heard many Led zep concerts, this being the "worst" according to many, I think not then they don't have any bad ones , I think they were expecting a sound like the albums, but that "bad" sound of Jimmy's guitar was always like that and Plaant's voice was very worn out for the last albums, they don't sound bad, it's just that that's how they sounded when they broke up

Carry On the Sound, do your own Donating locally [& for Free as Andy Taylor's taken on this one]; do that One Cool Thing where you are & never know what you're going to draw in the game of Life. I see Plant parting w/a Gold Lp Award for The Four Symbols as you can't take it w/you & maybe phil colons' ruination of the Best Band of their Decade as they made a selfless effort to aid Live AID -a Benefit Mr colons could've covered by Himself in $/£/¥ but chose to get on a Stage & destroy all Future Formats of any Zep inclusion in '86 alone carrying it on to the next one. It's not for phil as he'd thought. Maybe some Day his Modesty'll catch his 'majesty'.

As much as i love Zep. Here, Robert Plant sounds like Robert Cant. Sounds like a binman collecting trash at 7am.

Here is the official list given by Led Zeppelin before this diabolical performance. 1. John Paul Jones & Phil Collins play exceptionally well as usual. 2. Robert Plant must not warm up his voice & go out of tune on every song. 3. Page will not bother rehearsing or remember his songs & Do Not tune his guitar; just throw some heavy gauge strings on it & hope for the best. 4. Blame Phil Collins for Page & Plant’s unprofessionalism & lack of performance. 5. Page must play awful sounding guitar at all times, but must give the appearance & over confidence that he is playing like EVH. 6. Only add one bag of cocaine to pages coffee. 7. If this performance gets a bad review, blame Phil Collins. 8. Remove all brown M & M’s from the bowl.

I am a musician (guitar-player,synth/efx,etc. ,also a sound designer/ engineer and have some “producer”-insights.) The sound is “terrible” bad .Saucy and compressed .Plant sings not to good , maybe his monitor sound is not to good?… Also Page is stressed up ,and moves around a bit. As I am a guitarplayer who uses rack-equipment(not old-school amps for my tone & Efx ,) so a dedicated stereo monitor (or Left-Centre-Right system)(Efx sounds much better in stereo ,If They Are in Stereo!). This is Alpha&Omega for Me to Hear What I Do at all times!!!. And also What Comes Out to the Main Mixer!. On this concert the stage monitor-sound must be made in “real-time”(and programmable mixers was not invented at the time) , so some “blame” must be put at this situation!) It probably sounded better at the concert than on this recording although …
