I concur, and you’ve explained it very well. We’ve heard so much about today’s Christian curricula not having enough about the Gospel of Christ in it, or that its too weak, which is why we created Fetch The Goodness, which teaches 100% of the good news of the Gospel and we do this through animations, podcasts, curricula, live events and puppetry for children 12 and under. We’re working on a television series currently, inside our FTG Studio. Then we’ll launch everything at the same time.

I'm not going to set out to purchase curriculum to teach my children about Jesus. You could have excellent Bible-based curriculum and if you the parent aren't daily demonstrating Jesus's ways in your own character, that curriculum won't matter. I just purchased TG&TB for our kids and so far it is lovely. We are Bible-believing followers of Jesus Christ and don't need to fear any curriculum because He has given us the Holy Spirit and discernment. I actually came to Christ after having been given a book of mormon. They tried to convert me but I was seeking God. Another person gave me the true Holy Scriptures. I clung to them. Your kids are not going to come to Christ through your homeschool curriculum, and a curriculum like TG&TB isn't going to damn them. It's raising them up in God's word, in prayer, in grace for each-other, in humility, in asking forgiveness, in our example of trying to do His will and asking for forgiveness when we fall short. And showing them beauty in the form of art, poetry, and literature can absolutely help them along the narrow path. I've read many books from Christians who believe differently that I do theologically. I want to instruct my children in such a way that they will be able to understand that not everyone does believe the same things and that's okay-we believe the way we believe because this is what the Bible says and the Bible is God's word. If we come across erroneous teaching, bad doctrine, or sinful behavior in a book or curriculum we talk about it, discuss it, show them discernment in action. I doubt we will need to do that for TG&TB but I'll be keeping my eyes open! I find these type of videos in bad taste, especially the popping noises, black and white effects, and other dramatic controversy-driven, stress-inducing hype. If you want to see more Christ-like encouragement and behavior check out Jenny Phillips on The Good and The Beautiful youtube channel. I really enjoyed her "How I design my days" video.

Modern problems require modern solutions. There is no constitutional mandate for the universal compulsory public education system. Defund all public schools, auction off the assets to private companies. Let private industry sort it out. And for those that can’t afford it, or violate policy? Dunkin’ Donuts and the Marine Corps are always hiring.

Also a second generation Aussie homeschooler here! Your content has been really helpful to our family. We made the decision to pull my eldest two out of school and begin homeschooling a few years ago and within 2 weeks found out we were pregnant with number 4.😂 Like you, each of my pregnancies has got harder and that first trimester was a nightmare with sickness, learning homeschooling for 2, and looking after a toddler. It was like a perfect storm. Good on you for having the wisdom to slow down and pause when you need to. I didn't and I wish I had. I just made things more stressful for myself and kids out of my own insecurity and comparisons. I'm still learning this and bub number 4 is a year and a half now. Through all of these stages (pregnancy, newborn, active toddler who runs away at homeschool outings or needs to be napping), I am learning that I need to adjust and rely on grace. Being ok to let go, do less, and trust God by doing only what he's saying for your family's homeschool is a huge blessing that is really freeing.

Great video! I wanted to add my thoughts. We have used TGTB for 2 years now, level K, and Level 1 and we will be using Level 2 this coming year. I don’t use this curriculum to teach my child the Bible. I use the Bible to teach the Bible. We also love The Answers books for kids by Ken Ham. I will say that there are plenty of references of the New Testament throughout TGTB curriculum, whether it’s LA or Handwriting. TGTB has worked very well for us and my daughter loves it! It is affordable and it is easy for me to teach! We have used BJU Press for Spelling and it is great! I love that they incorporate the Bible in their workbooks no matter what subject, however buying an entire grade level for our family on one income would be very hard! It is a solid company though and I never rule anything out! Thank you for insight!!

“We caution families to be very careful with the influences they allow into their children's lives. Publisher’s worldviews and religious agendas should always be considered when choosing a curriculum. We have great concern with Christians using TGTB curriculum. We believe there is danger in using a curriculum inspired by an influencer in the LDS community. Our concern is based on content as well as greater initiatives of the LDS church.” I personally will not use curriculum that’s produced and promoted but the Mormon cult. We have to keep in mind that the goal of this false church is to continue to expand, and many Mormoms identify themselves as Christians. But they do not preach the true gospel…

Although I applaud your bravery and faith, literally everything stated here to show latter-day saints are not christian is factually incorrect. I am a latter-day saint, and as I've studied my faith and protestant/evangelical faiths seeking understanding by the Spirit, I'm convinced that a lot of the frustrations on both sides occur because we all speak different languages without realizing it. So... now I defend you guys when latter-day saints talk down your beliefs. Evalgelicals/protestants have much simpler languages than latter-day saints. For latter-day saints, words like "save" , "grace" , "heaven" , "hell" , "mankind" , when God's title is "Father" , "born again" , "prophet" , and even "scripture" have much more complex definitions and often have multiple meanings. In the end, we believe Christ saves in all the ways you* do and also that He saves in more ways (if not limitless ways). *If this accurately applies to you, depends on what kind of protestant/evangelical you are. This statement would be accrate only for Christians who believe that good works are evidence of accepting Christ AND that one can deny Christ's salvation after have once accepted it. Thanks for being Christ-like towards our elders. God bless! ❤

I’m using Christian light for kindergarten and it is very simple, the subject aren’t really separated they’re combined into a single lesson being used together. I haven’t used it for any other grade levels and this is my first year but I like how it’s not hard to complete a lesson with a 5 year old boy who doesn’t want to sit still haha. I do find at least at first it could almost be used for a pre schooler. We’re several booklets in and my son already can count to 12 easily but this is very slowly and repeatedly introducing 1-10 so far. But if gentle, slow, and simple to teach us the goal with lots of simple activities and little stories with questions that have to do with God then I really do like that about it.

I’m a rescued Mormon(20+ years and a temple-recommend member). Saved by God’s Grace in 2017. I warn Christians about Mormonism all the time! Are you aware that within Mormonism there are those who are already “appointed” gods of their own planets in the world to come? Christians who just take their Mormon neighbors’ word about their beliefs have NO idea what they are letting into their homes and minds. I warn where I can … and pray God will give discernment to His people.

Hi Jessica, Bookshark is the secular version of Sonlight, so if you're secular, you might prefer that. I personally like the Christian ones much better. So that would put it down to Sonlight vs Notgrass. I personally haven't looked at Sonlight. It gets good reviews. But the reason I've never looked at them is I'm a creationist and they're pretty on the fence about the issue. I'd like my kids to be reading something that is decided one way or the other. But, you may prefer the on-the fence approach. They are my only thoughts. Hope that helps though. God bless.
