Perhaps I’ll be the one to mention the unsung hero here… The amazing piano technician that had this instrument perfectly voiced and tuned for this great performance. No matter how good the pianist or the piano itself, neither can be truly great until that piano is properly prepared.

سالهاست که این صوت و اصوات ناصوت مثل یک خوشبختی ثابت و من مانده چگونه به رایحه صوت سازنده او سجود طراوت کنم من در میان نبض عناصر شناور و دوبارهای طراوت صوت و اصوات که از انس ظلمت بر پشت پلک سنگین خواب میزد روی زانوی ادینه ها در حرکت بود ولیکن ساکن میزد ز ماهیت فلسفه وجودی و از خود پرسیدم در جهآن آفرینش ز قیاس و مقیاس در کلاس دنگ و دنگ ساکن در گیتی معنا ز ماهیت چیست !!!! ! ! روی زانوی ادینه ها ساکن در تحرک مینمود ز ماهیت معنا ز مفهوم . اما ز دگر جا نسیم صبح هآ شبنم طرآوت بر گلهآی دشت ارمغآن می برد . ای ناخوانده نقش مقصود از کارگاه هستی و من برای دهان کال تماشا میبردم میوه 74 الهام را!!! ! ! ! ! ! ! میوه های فروزان باغ الهام رآ دیده بودم درخشآن بود درخشندتر ز آنی که در تفسیر لغت باشد از او پرسیدم با اسطوره جمله بساز . گفت : این تن بی شب و روز پشت سراشیب اعداد و مسابقه رقم و ارقام بود که مثل اسطوره خفته بود !؟ فکر من از شکاف تجرع به او دست میزد هوش من پشت چشمان او اب میشد و عرق شرم ز پیشانی چگونه بنگرم بر پیشانی محض مطلق مطلقات او خیلی خجالت کشیدم انس اندازه پاره میکرد در این بازار مکاره حراجی یا گاهی شبیهه هجومی لطیف به ظرافت زبر ترین زبر ترینها گویا قعله ترس در بر گرفتنم میزد گاهی ز پندار که دست هایش مدام در پی ام و در ذهن ضمیر دستانش عطر غفلت میداد. اما در کنار تکالیف شدیدا محو میزد ؟! وسوال ز او واقعیت کجا تازه تر است ؟ بیا تا با هم بدآنجا رویم بعد وقت را بدزدیم و میان دو دیدار قسمت کنیم !!!! ! ! ! ! ! وقت از دست میرفت مبحث روی پیشانی او . چشمان یک عبور میدید ز هر سویی هندسه هوش و نبوغ سرشار ز طراحی طرح و رنگ و ماهیت و معنا ز بالهای پر پروانه هآ

بی روزهای عروسکی ؛ این وجودی که در نور ادرآک آمده بسط بنشسته روی پلک تماشا ، واژه های تر و تازه می پاشد !!!! ! ! ! ! سوال آیا روی دیده چشمانش نفی تقویم سبز حیات است ؟ سالهاست این لطف و عنایت ها ز صوت و اصوات بسان خوشبختی ثابت مدام در چگونگی سجود بودم بر قواره رایحه صوت طراوت افرینده سازنده اش نبض من در میان عناصر شناور ولیکن نغمه صوت ناصوت از انس ظلمت در پشت یک پلک ز خواب سنگین میزد .

I remember seeing the late Radu Lupu perform this concerto, in 1975, with Leonard Slatkin, with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra . My beloved grandma "made" me go with her even though she was well aware of my strong preference to watch the Chicago Cubs, that day at Wrigley Field,as I had hoped to obtain Ralph Garr's autograph. I remember sitting there with tears streamig down my face as I listened to the second movement of this incredible piece. I was never the same after those 7:17 (seven minutes and seventeen seconds) elapsed. Radu Lupu then and there became my idol, Ralph Garr, Hoyt Wilhelm and Hank Aaron be darned. Watching this beautiful young woman's mastery on full display brings me back to that day spent with my erudite grandma. What I wouldn't do to have but another minute with her. Perhaps this is the true gift of Ms. Bercu and her ilk; not, as it were, "hitting" the right keys in the correct sequence at the proper time, but helping evoke the moments and memories in the distant past, for which we long and that make us truly human. I pray that she continues using this gift she has been given all her live long days. God bless her.
