So will it work with just tobacco coffee grounds and salt what would I use to moisten it???

You might need to watch again. I use coffee, not coffee grounds. Good dipping tobacco is about 50% water by weight. Pipe tobacco is usually a little bit moist already. You can experiment. Look at other comments here for more ideas.

Any idea of why my fuel tank keeps getting pressurized even with the battery disconnected?
@nunapitchukАй бұрын
First thing is that the battery has nothing to do with fuel tank pressure. As the temperature increases then the tank will get positive pressure and as the fuel pump pumps fuel out or the temperature drops it will get negative pressure. The fuel vapor line with the little 2-way valve to the charcoal canister releases pressure in both directions. See video again. My first guess is that there is a problem with that part of the system. If you haven't changed anything then I would check to make sure the opening on the bottom of the charcoal canister is not clogged up with something first.
@Korellix125Ай бұрын
@@nunapitchuk thanks didn’t even consider that the bottom of the charcoal canister could get clogged.
@nunapitchukАй бұрын
@@Korellix125 I like to check the simplest things first. The next thing I would check is the little 2-way valve. It should have a little bit of resistance to blowing air through in both directions.
@Korellix125Ай бұрын
Luckily my two way valve is right beside the charcoal canister. It has no pressure when blown in one way and a decent bit in the other direction. Between that and a leaky fuel injector it’s not a good situation. Do you have to tune the fuel injectors?
@nunapitchukАй бұрын
@@Korellix125 Sounds like the valve is OK then. If air can go through it then your tank should not get any more pressure than it takes to go through that valve. Since it is right there then I would remove the gas cap and then try blowing air into the fuel tank. It should flow with a little resistance. Also, make sure the valve is oriented the same as the one in the video. One way has more resistance than the other. The leaky injector is unrelated to air pressure in the tank. There are no adjustments. You need to order a set of o-rings (rockauto), remove all 4 injectors and replace the o-rings. A pretty big project.

Thanks. I will check mine. I've been wondering about that. Mine works, but, the governor rod moves back and forth a lot when it is idling. I'm hoping that all it is is that piece of plastic is out of place. I will check it. Originally, I had a problem where gas was coming out of the air filter. I think that is because the needle must have been stuck. I opened up the carburetor and was able to solve that problem. I didn't have to actually even replace the needle. I guess it was just stuck open. The way the plastic parts fit together on the top like that seems like a really idiotic design. I should add that I completely replaced the carburetor and the same surging while in idle is happening. Maybe I just have the plastic parts in the wrong position on top.

@@mernitactic6786 Might work with the differential out. I never tried it that way. I will say that if using RTV to seal the oil pan instead of a gasket then be very careful not to use too much. A very small piece of RTV broke off inside an engine I worked on and got stuck in the venturi port of the head. Long story short, my camshaft melted in half. My personal recommendation is an oil pan gasket (rockauto) with a thin coating of copper coat (K&W I think it is) on both sides.

Frank, I noticed you did not replace the tail shaft needle bearing, why? When you inserted the slip yoke into the tail shaft did you notice any side to side slop at the slip yoke? I have some play in mine. Do you think this would cause a vibration between 45 to 50 mph?
@nunapitchuk2 ай бұрын
All the bearings felt and looked good to me. No need to replace them. It is possible that a loose bearing could cause a vibration, but in my experience, a vibration at a certain speed is usually a wheel out of balance (like when you loose a wheel weight). So that might be something to check first.
