I bought elite dangerous when it came out, tried it and then uninstalled. Played no mans sky recently (how I discovered this channel) and while its not bad its main story is just as grindy as the rest of its gameplay. So naturally I started relooking for alternatives. For Hawks to recommend Elite, well maybe I will be reinstalling. As for the ships aspect the pull of space games for me is not just designing the interior but exterior as well. Playing space engineers, shape is as much a part of a ships survivability as parts deployment and how cool it can look. So while adding new ships is great and all, especially when you consider advancements in technology in a time line. WWII for example went from bi planes to Jet planes in 10 years, which makes new more expensive variants feasible, yet the thing that drew me to play No mans sky was their original concept to be able customise the look somewhat. While I know I have yet to actually play Elite so I dont know whats on offer, but from what I have seen the models look very rigid and reskinning isn't that big of a deal although appreciated. So allowing players to customise wing variants or engine shape etc would be a nice touch. Then theres locking variants behind paywalls like DLC which is a big, NO in my book. Theres lots of ways they can entice people to buy DLC but from what I read and the negative reviews on Odyssey that apparently mess with the economy if you dont own it. So new variants that may kick ass but may also break the game if only the people with the DLC can use the new ships so it really depends on how they are deployed.

I used to love Elite but it became a grind with the constant change of weapon, ship, shields etc ability. Constant nerf of this and boost of that. Used to be way more fun ways to make money but now it's just meh

So I just started playing at the release of the newest patch, not sure if they changed something in the code but I was doing a missing person investigation mission in a cave and there was enemy NPCs luckily I was geared to handle it and I found the missing person but yeah I was following this guide and that happened, I think this guide was made in the patch before and they changed something or maybe a glitch or I guess someone else had a bounty mission that happened to be in the same instance as me with the same cave , I don’t know, but thanks for the great guide as always

So just to clarify.. I'm supposed to trade vertically for the grade 5 encoded materials as well (grade 5 to Grade 5)..? Holy hell... I've got everything maxed out for encoded except for Grade 5, and I was fully expecting an alternative method for getting the rest. Time to head back to Jameson crash site about 20 more times 😵‍💫

This is a brilliant move from frontier. I hope they figure out how to do more of this, but still keep balancing the game.

If only you could just buy them. While this looks like a fast way of grinding materials, its still a grind. Probably going to go without engineering but will still save this in case i change my mind.

I like the new package. I have been out of the game for 2 years, and this makes it fun. I am having to learn the game all over, so this is just an added bit of fun. This brought me back. I spent a hundred bucks RL cash, from the get go.

Ok. I have the resource 'farming' mostly figured out from the video. I actually recommend doing that first before doing the exploring: landing and scanning the life forms. You will need fuel for your SRV (sulfur and phosphorous). You can spam farm that crash site at KOLI DISCII C 6 A by exiting to desktop then back in. It's a grind, but... Not only that, you can make a few million credits at the same time. The cargo containers often spawn as Gold and Palladium. (Ignore the other ones, I've actually been using the cheap ones as target practice lol) You can sell the gold and palladium at Maclean Terminal when your cargo hold is full. I haven't been interdicted yet, but yeah be ready, just in case. There is a guy that trades resources close by. I'll have to check again where he is. After trading for a whole bunch of sulfur and phosphorous, then do the exploring thing about 1000ish light years out. Hey! I'm a newbie and that fuel thing for the SRV really threw me for a loop!

I have been struggling with the Proto Heat Radiators... But the log in/out trick topped off my Proto Radiolic Alloys pretty fast. I guess the radiators are a more rare spawn, or I'm getting bad luck. I think I have enough to make my PAC build, but now I have to mine like 250 more ore. Thanks for the guide. I've used it quite a lot!

Sooo, what do i do after i refine the materials i mined with the prospector? I managed to rent a Cutlass Black for Cargo transfer, but now idk where to go to sell it. i'll try finding other tutorials that hopefully mention this part as well.

Hello, Could someone confirm this is still working? I'm at HR 3230 3 A A, found some braintrees and the remote release flak does nothing. Even got out in my SRV and the braintrees have nothing to target. A few targetable things beside a braintree clust which I can shoot with the SRV, but the flak does absolutely nothing. Thanks!

obviously suspend or ban the exploiters but the developers need to take some accountability as well instead of being like "hey guys we got the bad people doing bad things" and not address the fact that the exploits exist/existed because of them. the exploiters didn't make the exploits possible, the devs did.

After six hours of grinding this, I got zero opinion polls or financial projections. I don't know about your claims they drop like candy.

The #2 reason I quit playing was the hassle of finding materials. Videos like this go a long way towards motivating me to play again. It's really annoying that we can't just buy the stuff we need. Let me "grind" trading, which I enjoy, instead of having to grind mining, exploring, farming.

I know this video is a little bit older but hoping someone might see this. You mention having the mining lasers set to 4 pips instead of two. Not sure if I am missing something or not but how do you do that?

I don't know if it was true when this video was made but apparently you need special armor to mine in the extreme heat or cold, both are sold on the other side of the system from the moon used here. Look up Pembroke (hot) and Novikov (cold) armor. Otherwise great video!
