I think the Best camera for this tiny lens is the pentax Q, and could be used for macro with tubes

I watched the portion with the pics first, skipping the back story, and thought “that looks like the desert of Southern California”, before I watched from the beginning and noted that the previous owner said they likely bought it from California. Growing up there, I’d say these were taken in Apple Valley, which had, and still has, trout farms geared for children. Pretty sure I went to this one in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s as a young boy. Apple Valley was a big draw for kids back then because it was the home of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Very developed now, but very sparse back then.

The car appears to be an early 70’s Pontiac, maybe a Le Mans - the wheels and the nose of the car are almost identical.

The one I have is similar but isn't quite the same, maybe a few years apart from yours or maybe mine's different for the European market. I tried to use it yesterday but the shutter button won't depress. The little chrome arm at the front below the lens can be used to fire the shutter but its very awkward especially on mine (since the mounting arms hold the whole pop out assembly from above and below rather than the sides). Can anyone help?

I have the No.2 Autographic folding brownie from 1917 that takes 120 rolls. It is pretty mint and has its supplimental closeup lens and is in its original box. I will load it up and take it out this autumn (fall to you). Now, where is the nearest waterfall? If I can do a video of my exploits I will post to my channel. Signed.. inspired 65yr old.

While backpacking I came across a site which was being cleaned up and discovered a film canister with a roll of kodak slide film. I wonder if it is possible to get these developed still.

Well done! I recently purchased an Ansco Isolette camera that also had a roll of C-22 film. I was able to get 10 images from the film and they looked to be from the same time period. Some of the photos looked to be taken on a Civil War battlefield. I had purchased the camera on E-Bay from a seller in PA. So I guessed that it could be Gettysburg and was able to match the images to structures in Gettysburg! Some of the images contained people. I have messaged the seller to see if they know more. We'll see if the seller replies. I developed in Ilford Ifosol-3 and scanned the negatives with a Sony A7III.

Just bought an ERABOX ZEISS IKON from 1937 in a second hand store and guess what, it came with a roll of Kodak Verichrome 120 on an ADOX Metal spool with wooden core. I don't have any developer or experience doing this (just did it once in the university). I am holding the roll till I find someone in Sweden who can develop old films. Any tips or suggestions ? Cheers!

Hi. Great episode. A very nice experience when we buy a camera with a surprise. I recently bought a Minolta X-G9 at an auction with 135/24 FujiColor200 film but I didn't know and I opened the back cover, although I quickly bit it, it was a bit exposed. However, once developed, there are quite a few good photos of some old couple from everyday life. Possibly somewhere in the Netherlands. Now I bought an Agfa Isollette at an auction and inside there is an exposed Codacolor II C-41 negative. I don't know how to approach it, but I think it may be a film from the 70s. Can you tell me how to develop this film?

I have watched this series with great interest, I've found it quite moving. The photos of his grandmother are fantastic, and the ageing of the negatives before development really adds something to it. Fantastic, absolutely brilliant. It's like she wanted to say hi to him in this very special way, It brought tears to my eyes. A wonderful true story. I look forward to hearing more about this. 🙂

Get some 122 spools with backing and some newer kodak aerial film (color) and some older b&w aerial film then cut it to size and you got yourself some 122 film There was also the no4 cameras that used 5 inch wide film for 4x5 sizes and it should hold the film just fine

Looks very late 60s and early 70s... which jives with your guess of the timeframe. Also consider that film was just as expensive back then as it is right now. So that family could have taken those pictures over several months or even years. Even my family did that back in the day, taking a couple of pictures at a time until the whole roll is used up, then sending it off to get it developed.

I suspect you are right and perhaps the owner of the camera passed away or moved away leaving the camera behind with the undeveloped roll of film.

@@methodical100 Film is fun because of the mystery of not knowing what you got before you develop it. It's a very deliberate process which makes it a little zen like. You have to trust the science and use your imagination to envision the final product. For me, it's more satisfying than digital point and click. I hope you get hooked as I did. Good luck!

That's very cool. Be sure to do lots of research on developing that film before you try to tackle it. You get only one shot to get it right. What camera did you pull the film from? I made a mistake developing a roll from a 1905 Kodak that ended up ruining it forever. I can't tell you how sick I felt.
