I’ve lived in Monterey park for 10 years and luv how quiet and work in Old Town Pasadena the last 5 yrs, great balance

Much of the DT Long Beach area isn’t safe, is dirty and over crowded. There are some very nice high rise complexes that are newer and on cleaner blocks. But you are going to be paying about $2800-$3000 a month for a standard or smaller sized one bedroom. Apartment.

I see some 1 bedroom/shared living room places for like $1600, and some alone 1 bedroom apartments for like $2500. Not too bad. Are those real prices or just bait prices that will increase after a year?

Your right lb was a friendly city of great people from years back that made it a great city of history but now the mayor and city council want to modedernize it not good and crime is up I worked for the city for 40 years and it takes a britt to speck the truth. Thank you.😊

I live right in between Venice and Santa Monica and while it’s awesome I think Santa Monica is way overpriced. Venice has a lot more cool spots and restaurants imo.

I moved out of Cali 6-7months ago and I regretted right after, California have friendly people, best wether,best food (many choices),,best beaches, you don't have to live In LA there is many beautiful places and you close to everything,,and people think it's most expensive no it's not maybe the rent but the grocerys, eating out,, Starbucks it's cheaper,,I can't wait to move back love Cali

I'm a middle-aged adult who wants to go back to school, and eventually get a job working in the film industry. One thing I like about the idea of moving to LA, is that it's a city that has a lot of creative vibes, and I feel like it's a place where creativity is valued, not something you use for a hobby because you need to get a "real" job. I have creative skills and I want to be in a place where I can learn how to use them. I live in Kansas, a decent place in itself, but not very exciting, and I like the idea of living in a place where I don't have to worry about icy roads in the wintertime, and having to drive for two days just to see an ocean, or anyplace that I consider a fun place for a vacation. I also like the mix of people who come from places all over the world. In the city I'm working in now, I'm used to driving myself everywhere, so the lack of walkability and public transportation doesn't bother me. I find LA an intriguing place in many respects, in spite of its problems. I'm just trying to figure out how I can afford to move there, since I know that LA is NOT a cheap city to live in!

It's the pervasive smell from the refineries that makes me skirt Hawthorne. Has always been a repellent.

I live on Long Island NY. My dream job is to move to the suburbs of Los Angeles to get a job in the hotel industries, excluding night auditor.

Where you begin walking to restaurants/stores/shops at Catalina & Ave I is Redondo Beach (south Redondo) and continues into Riviera Village, one reaches Torrance to the south at about 1/2 way through Mira-Mar park which sits on the oceans cliff, then pretty much straight inland to PCH & PV Blvd to the south is actually Hollywood Riviera and continues on the south side of PCH headed east about a mile to Calle Mayor.

FYI Hollywood Riviera is the residential neighborhood and is located in the city of Torrance, Riviera Village is the business district of restauants and such and is located in the city of Redondo Beach, referred to as south Redondo. My suggestion is do a city border/city line search prior so you are correct on your information.

I grew up there. I was a teenager during the 80s. I played baseball at the park there. It was really dangerous back then. Highland Park has a location. I am glad to have great memories as a kid there.

What do you think about Lakewood Village?

As a former homeowner in Aliso Viejo, it’s still a relatively good deal compared to surrounding areas. Probably best suitable for retirees or young families and you gotta be comfortable with a certain conformity. Good access to freeways, nature areas and Laguna Beach.

I attended nearby John Marshall High School, and I am quite familiar with all of Los Feliz. It was a great place to live in the 1960s and 1970s. Very affordable compared to today.

The beautiful street you walked on the most, Hill Dr., is the nicest in ER. There are many more streets with more modest homes--those are the ones that are 1.5 and under. Up on Hill, you're looking at near $2 mil. for even he smallest and north of it for larger ones. Even in the last year, prices have gone up so much. Thanks for highlighting the area. Yes, Highland Park has many more bars and hangouts for those under 35, but York Blvd. is so close. Just one mile over a hill for me. It's nice to not have as much traffic and an easier time finding parking here.

Torrance is a wonderful place to live. I grew up there and wish I could live there again. The climate is so pleasant because of being near the ocean. I wish my parents had never moved our family away from there because I would have stayed there for the rest of my life.

I like Whittier Mall! It has Target, Kohl's, JCPenney, and one of the last Sears stores, SEARS!!!!

Yes the weather it’s the best in the country

City permits,zoning regulations and if yuo buy a land make sure it has all utilities Gas electricity water and plumbing if doesn’t have it it’s very expensive because yuo have hired a city engineer it’s thousands of dollars yuo are looking to pay
