this is the effect of Unequal education and people's habit always underestimated this job. almost no one parents here want their kids be a bus driver and by that this job is filled by people who are "forced to do" only with inadequate skills, or is it just their descendants who carry on this job for generations so it makes no difference how they drive. i have never seen in my life bus driver have a bachelor's degree, or even if there are it's only a few of them because most of them are graduated from junior high or high school. i know college or school doesn't teach us to drive a bus, but it cultivates our psychology into a good person or specifically in this case how do you drive a bus.

this not representing all of indonesian buses. if you going to short trip of rural area they might be still drive like this. but if you take long distance trip like surabaya-jakarta or sumatra-java mostly you'll get the high class european engines such a scania, volvo, and mercedes benz with hi deck class, double deck class, or even suite class just like airplane.

Lived there for 3 months. Those bus drivers don't earn much. Plus, their private companies run on really tight schedules. Also, the infrastructures man. The roads there are terrible in many places, compared to developed countries' gigantic highways that have lanes after lanes made specifically for fast travels.
