This is really something Great America needed! Looks great in that plot of land! Also, I work at Cedar Point now, but Great America was my home park for the first 20-something years of my life, and this video is making me miss this park SO much!

Sticking with the Dive Coaster where Buc Battle and Go Cart track is. GP LOVES THEM and they have great capacity.

It could be reaching, but the only thing that lies between the Demons eyes that would be shedding skin would be eagle. The eyes could be the referencing the corkscrews to which if you are looking through, you’d see eagle. But if it’s through the loops, then my bets on a dive coaster where the bay is currently.

To further add; Rakashasa is demon that shapeshifts so it could be tied to the remodel of an existing structure. I imagine if the project was in the pipeline at one point, it could be revisited

Doesn’t Great America need permission for additions over 125 feet? There is a zoning board meeting August 7. If Six Flags isn’t there, it seems to support the notion of a demon refurb or smaller coaster. My money still on a dive coaster though. This teaser campaign seems consistent with the bigger additions we’ve had.

I have a toddler. I wish they would invest more into the kids area. They have all that room in the wiggles area that is just empty now. There are only 6 or 7 rides that the little ones can go on so it gets pretty boring for them when you are there.

Also that area with the Spacely's Sprocket ride is a dead area now for kids as well.

I was at the park today as well. Crowds weren’t too bad. Very successful day! I was really Hoping they were upgrading roaring rapids. There are so many options with the demon, Buccaneer battle area, go karts. I would like to see RMC America Eagle…that my dream! something nice over the midway would look incredible. Road demon 1st time in 20 years…just in case!

It is still possible they repair and reopen Roaring Rapids! But the fact the sign is down and nothing seems to be happening over there leads me to believe otherwise.

My fear with the Roaring Rapids plot is that there are going to noise complaints up the wazoo if they put anything substantially large there. There are houses almost right behind that plot. This kind of stuff has stopped developments in other parks before. Also, I totally agree about adding something like Big Bear Mountain here! As much as I would love to see something like an enormous giga here next (and I will always hold out hope that maybe it’ll happen someday), I’ve always thought they needed more quality family attractions. A middle-ground thrill coaster like Big Bear would be PERFECT for this park.

Yeah, you could probably put an enclosed launched family coaster in there, but that's about it. And it doesn't look there are survey markers for major construction in that area. They'd definitely want to get started on that if a large new building is going up for next year.

@@MarcusLeshock Maybe! If I recall, there’s a pretty large berm behind this area of the park. If the ride stays low enough to the ground, the berm might block some of the sound. Maybe they could even enclose parts of the ride that get particularly close to the park border. Would be cool to see what they could do with that!

My only issue with your theory is the park has not built a coaster over the midway. The only coaster that goes over the midway is Demon and that was there and the built the walkway to get to the amphitheater and now SW territory. Just doesn’t seem like a six flags thing.

I'm still leaning more towards a Demon "loch ness monster" treatment due to the imagery and the phrase "shedding skin". I think 2026 will be a coaster for the 50th anniversary around Buccanner Battle and the go karts. Great video

"Shedding skin" could mean Demon's closing for good, though. Unlike LNM, it's not a unique layout, and it's not beloved enough to be mostly re-tracked. Combine it with Buccaneer Battle, and you have a massive site for a new coaster in 2026.

What else could they do for the Demon? I feel like the Loch Ness Monster has a much more interesting layout to work with. I don’t see them doing this kind of campaign for a Demon refresh … but again … I could be wrong!

I'm thinking "Demon" as in a "Jersey Devil" clone but more intense with variations. Please not a Dive Coaster! This park really needs an elite coaster and that's not a Dive. An Axis or something like Time Traveler would be awesome too.

Any thoughts on the idea that the S&S Axis Coaster could be added? It could fit in well with the "shape-shifting" Rakshasa Hindu demon idea, switching between suspended and standard.

I would love to see an infinity falls intamin rapids in the old roaring rapids area, that would be perfect for our park rather then pour money into refurbishing it only for something else to be broken and wait on parts for it.

That would be awesome. My thing with water rides here … I feel like it takes a while into the season to get hot enough to ride them, and then falls comes quick. I’d rather have coasters here, personally .

I hope a dive roller coaster is coming over to Six Flags Great America next year I think it would be amazing it could have 5/6 inversions a tunnel big drop if this is the way that we're going with a dive coaster next year imagine what could happen in the future at Six Flags Great America

Sad to see the old river rapids ride gone, it felt like you were all but removed from the rest of the park it was so quiet back there. It's really crazy because that's 2 different large and high potential locations. I feel like they can only use 1 since the only other way you can fit other big rides in is by removing others so either plot will sit empty. My own personal theory is it'll go next to demon taking up the plot of buccaneer battle and the go karts so you can change the otherwise nearly themeless area into a small horror section. Then during fright nights it can be a more intense scare zone as well. They could also add a path in between where the go karts are (have it go over the service road) so now you don't have to walk all the way around the park to get from one side to the other.

Interesting ideas! To be fair, the rapids ride isn’t officially “gone” yet. Meaning they haven’t announced that it’s closing. It just hasn’t been running at all and now the sign is down.

@@MarcusLeshock yeah but the sign being gone seems like a nail in the coffin. As you mentioned I don’t think demon will be removed. If the theater got its closing announced (to my memory) months before teasing even began on Maxx Force I doubt such a classic and historically important ride would just be ripped out with little warning in the back half of the season, at least I hope not as I’m working most days to do a study abroad program so I’d miss my chance for a final ride. A dive coaster would be perfect for the park and that location too. I hope we do get something like big bear mountain as you mentioned as well, right now there’s no real bridge between whizzer and the bigger thrill rides, as someone who was once really scared of coasters it took until cedar point where there are more family style rides without going upside down to ease into it. Plus without the rapids ride, buccaneer battle, and not a whole ton of consistency with the log flumes (I assume they are still open less often as I haven’t been able to get out this year) there just aren’t many attractions, big ticket or otherwise, for families with kids around that 7-11 age range or people with less proclivity for thrill rides.

I think your idea is interesting and it could work, but it would be a big work to make all of that happen to have the coaster go over the midway. Also Buccaneer hasn't been removed yet so idk how fast they can get it removed for something. Ngl, with the banner being gone by Mardi Gras and the plot you showed off, i wouldn't be surprised if we had a Demon Haunted House for Fright Fest. One more thing, hope the park returns to theming, i think the multi launch coaster could be Road Runner themed too
