Just sealed the deal on one of these motors. I gotta get rid of a pile of 10.00-20.00 tires and demountable rims and I get to take the diesel motor too lol pretty sure it's the same engine, but my injection pump is round where all the little tubes come off

so how does that DT360 do in the truck? pulls decent? what made you go with a DT360 vs a DT466?

The sheer size likely is why he went that way. Why I'm considering the 360. 466 is legendary but it's so much longer in a Ford or IH pickup chassis. Usually results in firewall cutting.

It does not sound like cummins at all.. I got one in a MH I converted. It sounds like a Ford diesel.

Absolutely awesome. Working on finding a 360 to put in a Ford Super Duty becuase Cummins swaps are gay! Did you do a full overhaul?

No I did not, just changed fluids and filters and am running it as-is.

Iove the build, Im putting one in an 1994 obs ford f350 gas. I was wondering what valve you used for switching the dual tanks? Sorry if I missed it in the video. It sounds awesome.

The selector valves are a Pollak six port motor driven selector with a 3/8" supply and a 5/16" return. Be sure to get the connector and the switch as well.

For now it is a cheap eBay turbo for a DT466. I have adjusted the fuel pump and timing as well. Once I know how everything works together I will replace with a higher quality version.

I have a question for you, I’m currently in the process of gathering what I need to do a fresh rebuild on a dt360 to put in an IH truck as you are doing yourself and I was wondering what exhaust manifold you went with? Any help Is much appreciated, somewhat of a lone wolf with IH stuff over here on the west coast!

I used the stock exhaust manifold for now, it has some stress cracks but they weren’t too bad so I kept it. Good luck with your build, any questions just let me know.

Oh yeah. My crewcab is planned with Axletech 4000s and a Cummins 8.3. Planning on a 14' camper on the back. Nice looking build.

I remember when this thing came up for sale. Wrong side of the country for me though. Glad to see it went to a good home. I have a few Loadstars myself, mostly 4x4s with a couple of two wheel drives, one of which is a crewcab. I do not have a 6x6 and was drooling hard over this one. Post your build up on binderplanet too, guys would love to see a Loadstar build as there aren't too many of them.

Yes, that’s still my ‘phase 2’ plan, still wrapping up phase 1.

Yes, that is phase 2. I want to be able to swap between the camper and cargo bed reasonably easily and I have some ideas but will have to see how easy they are to implement.
