When he opens the door and they're both standoffish, not a handshake, not a hug, just an odd first interaction... As someone who was born and raised in the South, now living in Portland, this is extremely accurate of the natives. No hugs, very rare hellos or even eye contact.

Isaac Brock used to shop at the grocery store I was a cashier at in Portland, Oregon in 2013-2014 and was also my neighbor, I miss him living in Portland and casually coming through my grocery line, it always made my month to see him once in a blue moon, wish I wasn't so starstruck and would have asked him more interesting things though, he is super smart and cool. One time he asked how my day was and I said, "I can't wait to be off work" and he responded, "Yeah, I've only been here 5 minute and I already can't wait to leave here too" LOL I laughed so hard, good news for people who love bad news :)

Good to know he has to deal with a ton of road noise too. I freaking hate it but once you make the stupid decision to live where you live you're pretty much all in on all the shit that comes along with it. After 20 years, now it's mostly just waves training... Except for the construction equipment when the road service girls are out there. 😉
