In a well-established legal framework, the testimony of experts, including scientists, is expected to be based on evidence, scientific principles, and professional expertise. Superstition, by its nature, involves beliefs that lack empirical evidence or scientific support. Therefore, introducing superstition into the legal framework would undermine the credibility of expert testimony and compromise the reliability of judicial decision-making. The legal system generally relies on objective and evidence-based analysis to ensure fair and just outcomes. If superstition were to influence expert testimony, it could erode the foundation of the legal process, potentially leading to unjust or irrational conclusions. In most jurisdictions, legal standards for expert testimony prioritize scientific validity and reliability. Expert witnesses are typically required to adhere to recognized scientific methodologies and principles. Introducing superstition could undermine the integrity of these standards and compromise the effectiveness of the legal system. ChatGPT

You know why the horse ate the hotdog? Because it's NOT meat. It's made of meat byproducts and highly flavored with VEGETABLES, ie. garlic, spices, herbs, etc. The horse is attracted to VEGETABLE-based foods and was conditioned by the repeated perverse version of "meat" offered it. If you held up the same garlic, herbs, and spices coating another different food, I'm certain the horse would eat it with equal gusto.

Respectfully, you didn't listen to the talk if that is what you got from it. You were mindless while listening and only heard what you wanted to hear and not what was actually said. If you listen again, choose to hear everything, be mindful while listening. Go well and enjoy your day.
@thewozmancan3 ай бұрын
@@aj_from_sa3260I can see the forest for the trees. I understand the concept of the talk, listened carefully to it and I GREATLY admire Dr. Langer. I was NOT mindless, but mindful of the bigger picture and actually institute many of its precepts into my living day. But you, my friend, are missing MY point about a separate subject outside of the scope you had your heart set on when watching and listening to the video Above. Be mindful of that and think about it a little while. It is OK to present ideas outside of what is expected.

The POINT being that there are natural laws that define much of our behavior despite what we think we can will with mindfulness. Mindfulness serves so many wonderful purposes that we are all well aware. But don't forget about determinism. Determinism is a real heartbreak for the mindful spiritual crow (I am among them) but it is also a great relief in many ways. Read Sapolsky's book on the matter. You'll enjoy it!

So I'm not the only one that has thought this guy was rambling some words and thoughts. I don't like it. I don't like it as an introduction to sociology for high school students. I don't think it's appropriate. Maybe a more advanced level of instructions piece but having to watch this video repeatedly to decipher it is not appropriate for an introduction to sociology. I don't think I am ignorant and have low low level cognitive so that I don't think my thoughts are way out of line.

I wish people of my country would watch this analysis, because the prevailing stereotype is that Sociology makes children leftish and that it brainwashes, while there is already a huge confusion in the educational system as well as in the media that cause moral panic. Government despises sociology with stereotypes and unfortunately many reject the process of studying and interpreting according to sociological imagination
@dawnlatin94053 жыл бұрын
What is meant by making sociology more “democratic”? Isn’t that counter to the ideals of inclusiveness? Unless there are dfferent definitions of democratic, mob rule is not inclusive. This means if 51% of society is socially unaccepting of certain behaviors, then it is “canceled” by the “majority” of the society. We should be moving away from democratic ideals because they are exclusive in that the prevailing societal norms for the time are the only ones allowed to be normalized within that society.
@ignaciobolado98792 жыл бұрын
I think you are misunderstanding the concept of democracy. Democratic is not equivalent to "the most of"(51%). If you understand "democracy" from the electoral perspective (as it seems to be the case) you tend to consider it as a tyranny of the most quantity of people. Many definitions of democratic caracteristics consider inclusion, freedom and equal perspective of bigger or smaller (quantitive) social/human groups, going further than the conception of democracy as an electoral or political system. It's more like the "social perspective" concept of democracy.
