These are my favorite elevator buttons.

The up chime on these is actually the call chime. On Japanese elevators, the chime would ring when someone pushes the button and no elevators are already present on that floor. This would be accompanied by the lantern being solid lit. It would remain in this state until the elevator arrived, after which it began to flash and the directional chime would ring. The up chime on Japanese Mitsubishi elevators is the same as the down chime, except reversed.

It’s actually series 1, 2, and 4. Series 3 has a different chime (doop doop) Series 5, 6, and 7 have a high pitch beep as chime.

Most likely the door interlock didn’t engage, pressing door open will open the doors then the door closes and the interlock engages

Yeah that was really just an issue with the down button on the second floor. Other than that, this elevator seems perfectly fine. That plus for some elevators the door close button doesn’t work. I’ve seen that on a whole range of different elevators.
