Very sad to see these old rail lines disappear. I used to enjoy watching trains run through Gaylord on the old Michigan Central/Detroit and Mackinaw line, as well as Alpena to Rogers City. :(

The tracks into downtown Petoskey have been ripped out sadly. They still serve Petoskey plastics on the southern end. 😢

The interesting bridge there is the double bascule truss at the left. That is unique. There must not have been enough ship traffic to justify opening it.

West Mt. Hope at South Washington. Right in front of the old Clark Store. The Duplex Truck factory that opened in 1917. I think it's the QD building nowadays.

Wow, I didn't even think those tracks were even operational anymore. My Great Grandparents lived about a block east on Herbert at Norman.

Notice how slow he's moving. Most of that track hasn't been used in years, and what is there isn't in good shape .

They are actually replacing these tracks this week. Why, I don't know because they only run for about another half mile, and are never used.
