I just want to remind our christian brothers of 1 Corinthians 14:33 that God is not the author of confusion. So, if you are in a state of confusion or are in doubt of who God is, please seek answer, a solid answer until you are no longer having any doubt. In my opinion, the narration here in the Qur'an is very beautifully and vividly displaying the distress of Maryam (RA) regarding her pregnancy. While I'm not a scholar nor historian, but to me It actually makes a lot of sense and not confusing at all. I mean, if you are in that position of Maryam RA, it will be very rational of you to withdraw yourself away from anyone and hide the pregnancy, since you know the consequence of staying among the people and not hiding your pregnancy will result to your death. Like, staying inside the town is the last thing you would consider in this situation. When Maryam said "23. Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten", it really shows how in great distress she was. By all respect, it is not for me to say that the biblical narration is wrong, but I find the narration of the Qur'an is more "Human". Moreover, the Qur'an tells more details about Isa AS (Jesus), that is the miracle when he spoke in cradle. And this is not just regular detail, this is actually an important detail. This instance helps explain how Maryam RA eventually did not stoned to death by the people. Because the people knew that this baby was not ordinary.

Anwar Deedat has been gone fourteen years and he would certainly know whether he was right or wrong in his teachings. His responses are aimed at people who are unfamiliar with the Bible typical of Muslim audiences. I've attended different churches in my life: Roman Catholic, Anglican, Baptist, Pentecostal, Nazarene, United (Methodist), and Alliance. They never taught Jesus was sired by an earthly father, but sired by the Holy Spirit as written in the book of Luke which Deedat did not quote from. True, the Quran confirms Mary had a miraculous conception, but stops short of giving Allah credit for her pregnancy which is rather obvious Allah did. Nobody else and not a spontaneous reaction. While Jesus calls God his heavenly father, Muslims refuse to call Allah such a title as it doesn't fit with being a slave. It's wonderful to claim Mary has a chapter in the Quran bearing her name which the Bible does not. In fact, Mary is the only woman mentioned by name in the entire Quran. On the flip side, the Quran doesn't have the books of Esther and Ruth which the Bible does. For a guy who claims to know the Bible inside out, he completely missed the target let alone the mark. The Bible is about Jesus lock, stock, and barrel and is prophesied about in a number of places in the Old Testament. Regarding son of God, Genesis 6:2 says this: "the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose". Jesus is described as the only begotten Son of God and entirely unique in stature with no one like him before or since.
