The latter half of the work has such brilliant lyricism. I still mourn the tragedy that a promising composer in the field of free atonality decided to abandon his post in favor of becoming a scoremonger whose melodies neglect the semitone and whole tone, and who seemingly hadn't heard of articulations other than staccatissimo.

Perhaps it may interest someone to know that in the famous case of extraterrestrial contact called the 'Friendship Case' (IL CASO AMICIZIA) in Italy last century, reportedly an alien identical in appearance to us humans, but very tall, loved this piece of music very much and used to play it on his violin in his spare time... NOT a joke!
