At any extent..is it smart to buy a bike with water damage
@decelationАй бұрын
Honestly if you have basic mechanical skills it could be a very worthwhile investment. I bought the bike for 700 ish. I put about 200 in repair parts and 300 in upgrades that I wanted and at the end I had a really sweet bike that I rode for a few months and sold for $2500
@kevin2298Ай бұрын
@@decelation well I do, but I would imagine to repair a water damaged bike you just drain everything & start over
@decelationАй бұрын
@@kevin2298yes. I drained everything then flushed it a few times with clean oil, then start the bike and bring it up to temperature then drain and refill all fluids a couple of times then it should be good. Use cheap oil for your multiple flushes and multiple heat cycles and drains and refills

@decelationАй бұрын
That is awesome. It is really hard to answer that question. Filming tends to add 30% more time due to trying make room for the camera, do the work and have enough lighting for the camera to see. With that I can say there was a solid 2 years worth of effort building it while working full time

I’m torn between sending my LS3 heads to TSP or Katech. My problem with Katech is that I called them about my LS7 heads and they essentially told me their business model was to put new seats, guides and valves in everything regardless if they needed it or not so they could maintain the quality so in reality, anything you send them is going to be treated as cores. Did TSP up charge you for a bunch of stuff like guides after receiving your heads?

I had that # 45 HPE 700 car. I bought it on EBay in December of 16. It had about 9600 miles on it. I kept it for about a yr and traded it to a dealer for a CTSV coupe. I really liked the car. I didn’t care for the seats and it burned a lot of oil. I even installed a catch can on it. I also added the Z06 knock off wheels. I drive hard and was going through a qt of oil a month. Glad to see it’s still around and being enjoyed. Currently driving 20 C8 with Lingenfelter supercharger.

Man, you had it easy! My experience was completely different here in Broward County, Florida. Hannibal, on my channel, was built from all new parts and the rules were not clear as to what the County DMV was supposed to do. It took me 15 months and two trips to Tallahassee before my car was finally assigned a VIN. My advice to anyone contemplating building a complete car in Florida or in any other State is to talk to your local DMV BEFORE you start spending money, because the process can be easy or very hard.
@decelation3 ай бұрын
O wow. That sounds like a major headache. Yes that is very sound advice. Florida appeared to not have any consistent rules and regulations for getting this done online so I ended up going to my local DMV then to the regional DMV to get clear answers

@decelation3 ай бұрын
It is hard to tell on the length of time because filming adds a significant amount of time to the build. To me the most difficult part is maintaining momentum to keep working on it. If you make sure you touch and work on it every week it will get done before you know it
