good information here I was hoping this would talk about collisions that happen at a certain speed. Like a rock falls on you, the game should be able to tell and deal damage to you cause of how fast the rock was.

Hey, I love the video. I found it because i was trying to learn if I can create a blueprint to make the prop behave a certain way. Say I have a day night cycle blueprint. I want the prop to face north during the day and south during the night. Just an example. is this possible? then on too of that can i add this prop to my skeleton say like attached to head so it follows the player character around? thanks keep up the work!

Was this pattern made with a fill layer? It depends on how the pattern was made. If you are looking to use a pattern as an input, the white portion would be emissive IIRC

A nice optimization that I did for my game was having a multi atlas texture for the non hero assets, but for every asset, including the hero assets like in the video, I hid the different 4k textures in the RGB channels in Photoshop which gave me 1 final texture with hidden textures inside. Now my game has around 80 - 120 fps with over a 1000 objects on screen at all times all with 4k textures (all with custom LODs). The objects use the same materials and textures which made no affect in performance when they didn't have any textures and were simply using that single colour multi atlas texture map. Overall I think that 4k or 2k or even lower doesn't affect much in performance if you choose other ways of optimization. And if you can scale the final texture down even further without losing the detail, then hey... even better.

Question, at 1:22 when dragging it in you had the option to overwrite the "DefaultSceneRoot." Is it not a good idea to replace that with your mesh?

It looks like you can overwrite it and it will just replace it, removing the white circle visual.

The glow is program dependent, so if you have an Emission file you will need to look up how to enable Emission in Maya. Similar in Unreal, you need to set it up using Unreal's material editor.

A question, what would you do if you do something more complex and substance painter's UV ruining the smoothness of my character ?( I basically have a line in my character and I want to make it not visible or less visible) I don't want to make UVs in maya so I thought maybe you have a trick for that?
