Really impressive video David! Traffic had to be #1 on the list, But the light rail, we use often when in uptown going to games and events. A life saver!

Thanks. I wanted to highlight the things that the bigger pool of of people identify as needing improvement. I've been to several places with much worse traffic and much more robust public transportation.... I happen to love the Lynx.

No idea how I landed on this video but yes, for any city of considerable size a vast, quality and affordable public transportation is key. For inner city dwellers bikeability is of importance.

Exactly. The Lynx (light rail) is nice, just not nearly expansive enough. While I don’t see a lot of bikes uptown, those scooters are all over.

Nice video. Any city nowadays that’s worth living in is experiencing the same problem of traffic congestion. Been moving around a bit over the past 10 years, and traffic is just a common problem someone can expect moving to any decent city

Belmont is such a pretty community it's my kind of city, Belmont participates in the taste of Charlotte we went to that every year, the food is fantastic, I miss it terribly the people are really nice very friendly driving through there was such a pleasent experience Nellies was always busy on the weekends one issue with Belmont is the housing it's really expensive it's growing fast it's 10 minutes from Gastonia miss it all. Lots of stuff to do there is a popcorn place that has different flavors it's unreal, it's a quiet community if you go to North Carolina it's a must visit.

I lived in Gastonia, Stanley and Lincolnton all 3 were just fantastic we were 3 1/2 hours from the mountains or myrtle beach had to move back to illinois during covid gov. Cooper was not reopening the state fast enough... I'm going back after I retire which is in 4 years It's about time some one highlighted some where else other than Mecklenburg County...

What I hate about Charlotte is the toll Lane. The second thing they say I hate it said they going to have the 485 fits by 2022 then they changed it to 2024 to change it to 2025. Nothing I hate about Charlotte yes they must have been the hotels in uptown and they still haven't built it yet

Property tax is a con? I thought that item was what attract people to Fort Mill and Rock hill area? Can you comment on Sales Tax, grocery tax?

Definitely misspoke about those property taxes. Both NC and SC are in the lower 1/3 of all 50 states for property taxes with SC at #6 and NC at #16. For groceries with 100 being the average, the World Population Review shows SC with a 99.5%, NC with a 97.6%. “Combined state and average local sales tax is NC at 6.99%. South Carolina…. with 7.43%.” Thanks for the catch.

If you buy food grocery like milk and bread and eggs is tax-free in York County. If you buy Bleach dish detergent toothpaste and close the door that's not food then you pay tax

I as a Veteran thought of moving to NC but after finding out that there's a bunch of Hog Farms and they are sprayed with chemicals it became a NO go. Also, I won't live in a State who doesn't provide 100% percent property tax exception to veterans who have a disability rating.

@@yunieth9588 One of the things we say around here is that we have a lot of "half-backs". Northern people who move to Florida then come to Charlotte, or half way back to the north.

It would be awesome if N.C got onboard with the surrounding states like VA and SC....With 100% tax relief for the house and 1 acre of land...I have property in both N.C and VA and won't move to N.C because of it's low property tax relief on 100% P&T SC Vet...

That would be nice to have that as a nation-wide exemption. If I recall correctly, in VA the amount of the exemption is based on income. My current % is not good enough for anything.

There is a road through the center/downtown section of Pineville (speed limit 20mph) that can get backed up during rush hours. Right near the SC line, just south of Pineville there is a light that can also hold up rush hour traffic.
