Horrible version, both for drums abd keyboards. Slower, less volume on drums and with less convinving keyboard symphonies.

Uh, this didn't aged well, Manginni played it really good, James tried his best, I know what it feels to not be able to do what you love the best you can, he was a beast back in the day. Hate to see him struggle and damaging himself like that, but love he does not give up never

Was it my imagination, or was Lars trying to play double bass during a fast solo? I was confused that he had never done this before here, but with my ears I heard that....someone at least tried to play a double bass before the last verse.
This sounds ridiculous without the Master Portnoy. That drummer is ridiculous and should be thrown to the trash: listen how slow he play...

I usually try to avoid bad comments because if i have nothing good to say well... you know, but for me this is the worst version i've heard of A change of seasons. Of course for me it's a million times better with Portnoy. And as for your comment i guess internal politics.

@xsiete25x I prefer Mangini's crisp, and tight drumming. He so much more nuanced and detailed. Way more exciting. Mangini responds to the music more. Portnoy is great, but Mangini just has more "octane". An evolution and progression of the art.

Man, that intro is so killer. John's guitar tone is so on point. I would have loved to hear that song live in person. I wish they would rerecord this song. Dream Theater's production has come such a long way.
@zennyfrommoga9 ай бұрын
?? The current studio version is perfect as it is. Derek's keys are amazing, and those 90s albums have an atmosphere that the new albums just don't have. Plus, that was prime LaBrie. A modern rerecording could not compare.
