I love that you try all the gimmicks but honestly this one is ridiculous. A lot of work for little payoff. Simply putting curl products in wet hair and scrunching it and then DON’T TOUCH until dry will yield you great results. That’s what I do and I have wavy hair.. You have fabulous hair and what a talent for styles. I am envious of your creativity.

Yeah, it was too much for me to do the entire curly girl method. Your hair is gorgeous with the beachy waves. I use a spray bottle to refresh curls in the morning with some scrunching. Air dry, scrunch out the crunch. It revives the product, at least for me. I also root clip after scrunching with smallish spider clips. I also scrunch roots. Thanks for sharing!

Would be really nice if you could show us how it looks the next day or after you wear it in a bun for few hrs. There us no way we can go around always with the hair down especially with the heat. My guess is that it looks very messy and as far as you can not brush it i dont know what sence does it make. Either wear it ALL the time down or brush it gently and get back the ‘before’ result right after that ……. Please correct me if i am wrong

Not so bad Lainy.I turned 61 in February and have found my hair not as thick as it used to be so I think I'd like to see if products would give me some much needed volume. I have a couple of questions Lainy....1. Do you brush your hair completely before applying your product or when you first wash your hair? And 2. You note that the top of your head still seems somewhat flat...so maybe begin applying your product to the top of your head first then working your product to the ends of your hair! Then scrunch and begin the defuser from the roots and gradually until your done with your ends.!?

I never really understood why everyone was loving the bowl method. I never tried it myself since my waves are much less defined if I have too much water in my hair when styling. Your hair looks good, though! If this is something you choose to continue trying just know that you'll probably have more bad than good hair days for a while. I quickly learned that you can watch all the videos in the world but in the end you have to experiment and figure out what works best for your hair. I also have fine hair and can't use a lot of product. I think especially at the beginning a hard hold gel is going to be your best friend. Honestly, I don't even have the energy to style my own hair wavy very often these days. Leaving it straight is so much easier!

I do this to my hair occasionally however I spent a lot more time with the bowl of water than you did plus I didn’t use as much water I think you have diluted the products too much. I also used 2 products and did the dunking in the water. I then spent some time “plopping” the curls plus a fair amount of time diffusing. I ended up with heaps of volume and amazing curls and my hair is less wavy than yours when I just air dry. I believe if you add additional steps as mentioned you will get the volume you’re looking for and a lot more curls

I struggle with the flat root area too. I think it ruins the overall look for me. And I can go longer between washings if I wear my hair straight.

Just found out about this technique, and I think I'm going to try it today or tomorrow! I'm going to try doubling up my robe tie, though, so that there's a little less squish. I'm naturally wavy but it mostly turns to frizz when I brush it.
@graciebreeden3100Күн бұрын
You need to get a brush called tangled teaser it will give you more clumps and make it not as frizzy it is a game changer 😂😂😂❤❤❤

Hey, I was (finally) just looking into this yesterday. After my first child-just like other commenters, I got a wave in my fine and straight hair. I would always just brush it out to keep it neat but it could get frizzy. I read that I need to brush way differently if at all and learned about 'plopping'. Like Lainey I've got a back part and also just not really used to the... free flowing fluffiness? Thanks for posting about your journey with this!
@LaineyMarieBeautyКүн бұрын
Ohhh yes! I need to try plopping! And give that a go!
@BionAvastar3000Күн бұрын
Try brush styling it wet and then just letting it air dry. The less you use heat, the more pronounced your wave pattern will become.

I had straight hair that would not hold any curl when I was a kid. I used to get perms put in to get waves. After I had my first child I realized my hair had some wave to it. I honestly don't know how to deal with my hair either. I'm such a low maintenance person when it comes to my hair. I love that you're doing these videos. Might help me learn how to style mine as well. Thank you for sharing your journey!
@LaineyMarieBeautyКүн бұрын
Of course! I actually tried something else today at home (I haven’t done a video yet) and it’s low maintenance and seemed to work pretty well for me! I’ll keep trying it and share a video on it. No way I could do the bowl method and diffuser every day Lol

I totally understand you and your newly found curly hair. I was 23 years old (35 years ago) when I found mine and they are a little bit more curly than yours! My mom hates curly hairs. I found out hers are also curly and she hates them. Hers are like yours… my daughter’s are crazy curly, like a spring. I don’t recommend doing the bowl at all. Whatch Mell by the manes. She help me and my daughter a lot and we are styling our hair once a week.
