Question is, why in the world would anyone choose to ride long distance on a Harley vs a Goldwing?...

Thanks for posting this. I have a friend boarding the Lake Shore Linited in Sandusky tomorrow AM about 4 o’clock (he’s heading for Utica NY) and I wondered what the Amtrak station there looked like.

Nice video! Downtown is looking great, I was just there today enjoying a walk. They need to do something with that empty lot that’s just used for cars at the 17 minute mark, build a nice looking building there, and try to get a grocery store to open up downtown somewhere. Subscribed.

Beautiful downtown, but it's a ghost town. Everyone mostly is at home using drugs.

Being born in Ohio, I’m totally with you guys up until the basket. That company was formed by Dave Longaberger, who is a pervert, and used to grope his female employees. When he died, his daughter took over and.Slurpitraited her own mail counterparts and ran the company into the ground. My advice would be to burn that basket to the ground, and never speak of it again. Or Ohio can be famous for sick demented people so that works too.😂

Correct on most accounts in this video. I have and love my old Harley evo and my 05 goldwing I’ve always been on the take pride in what you ride. To correct one thing the goldwing is called a dad bike or grandpa bike as you said but the Harley ultra is called a Geezer glide. Stay safe out there fact is we’re all out there for the love of riding

Zanesville is trash! Not 1 thing in this town for children or teenagers to do!! Drugs and drug overdoes is an everyday occasion, missing people Left and right😮 jobs are scarce, slum landlords, people found dead in abandoned homes that should be torn down up, You’ll see dumps in every neighborhood! Damaged headstone in almost every cemetery from drugged out morons. 1 hospital that isn’t worth 2 shits! Pot holes on every street, shooting that occurs many times. These trashy dumpy houses rent for 900 and up …Zanesville has nothing to offer. I thank God I live in the outskirts of this place

I've been to Sturgis around 20 times. Most of those times. I was on my Goldwing. I own Honda's and Harley's. And a Kawasaki. Not once have I ever had any kind of issue riding a Goldwing in Sturgis. I mean not a single issue.

I ride a Goldwing FB6 and would have to try really hard to give a shit what Harley guy thinks about my bike. I have no desire to own a Harley, and would not go to Sturgis if it was a 10-minute ride lol~

The I.O.R.M. (International Order of Red Men) built the John Wesley Powell memorial. They were a white men fraternal organization. The "tribes" were different fraternal organizations around. They were all white men who wore Indian headdresses at their meetings. It was complete cultural appropriation.

hi...for some reason youtube recommended your vid to me. Suspect its because you have road and Sturgis in your title. Which is ok. That's how one finds new channels one may just enjoy right. I do enjoy motorcycle trip vlogs. Of All kinds. i ride the road as well as dirt. I follow all kinds of varying content in relation to both areas. Which is alot. I admit. lol Anyway...just wanted to say I did enjoy this vid. You're an interesting guy to listen to and ride along with. Wed have a good conversation in person Im sure. I pull a trailer as well. Love the open road. Been many times to Sturgis. Both the wife and I ride. But on the question of which bike Id be riding. The Ultra ...most definitely. Noooo doubt about it. There aren't many brands of bikes I haven't owned over the many yrs of riding. Harleys are to me very unique among them all. A different experience if you will. One either appreciates and gets it. Or you don't. Owned a Yamaha Venture for yrs. Great bike. Did I enjoy our trips on it? you bet. And Ive ridden Goldwings and many others. Like I said ...owned and ridden many bikes. Still own a few. But none have the personality and soul of a Harley. Japanese bikes come across as ...well?...a little sterile and boring. Good machines. They get the job done etc but.... just not in a very interesting way. Ive found through my yrs of riding too though is. One can know a fair bit about a person by the bike they ride. I find Japanese touring and cruiser owners are more practical and logic driven folk. The Harley owners more artistic, creative, folky and... shall we say....a little less logic driven. EG... they party more etc lol. Now I know Harley owners come in all personalities...shapes an sizes. But.. generally that's what I've noticed. I know there's no right or wrong on what ones chooses to ride. Everyone has their own opinion, needs priorities...budgets even. One mans garbage is another's treasure as they say. One could break it down this way. If the motorcycle community was a family . Harley riders would be brothers and sisters. Everyone else would be like cousins. Just not as close. The common bond a little less intense. Which is ok too. I have some very nice cousins. But... theyre not like my brother. Anyway...gotta run. I think Ill watch the rest of your Sturgis vids. Curious as to how you enjoyed it all. Those rowdy Harley guys an all...lol Take care man...Ill prob comment on one later too thanks for sharing your experience

Thanks for the comment! I have fun on all of the bikes. I'm glad HD is around. I'm glad I can take the wife's occasionally. For my long hauls though, I want that smooth Goldwing with the engine that sounds like a Singer sowing machine and body panels reminiscent of Tupperware. Half-spoiler, I didn't stay in Sturgis long. I did thoroughly enjoy the trip. I like the smaller rallies more than the craziness of Sturgis, but I'll make it back sometime. I like the trailer too. I don't like the Bushtec air system as I'm always worried about it. I've been dealing with leaks in it. I do like how it performs otherwise though. Thanks for watching. I'm in a constant state of attempted improvements with motovlogging. I enjoy making them and I enjoy the interaction in the comments.

You can find multiple camping spots blocks from Main Street that charge $25 a night and the good ones have outdoor kitchen setups frig/freezer space grills silverware plates condiments etc included. Along with showers and bathrooms. The great ones offer breakfast and having swimming pools. You can have an absolute unbelievable trip on a budget if you want to. Sure you can drop slot of cash just as fast as you want. Just my 2 cents.

Do you do a lot of solo riding ? I can’t find anyone of my friends that want to ride (travel) anymore, I guess old age is kicking in, my wife use to like to travel but now that I have 6 grandkids she doesn’t go anymore so I’m going to try the solo thing which I’m not crazy about but I’m not sitting home

Yes, I ride solo often. My wife rides often, but does spend many weekends with my grandson. I have no problems riding alone. Learn to enjoy the solitude. I like not caring what anyone else thinks about the trip I'm on. It's not uncommon to have someone come along that is not self-confident and they constantly worry about the what-ifs of the road. I just don't. We live in a country with cell phone towers all over the place and you're rarely far from stores and help. Still people constantly obsess and worry about things. Riding alone, I don't have to partake in that with them.

Buy a couple charging banks and hook them to your camera. In my experience you'll really extend your recording time. The downside, of course, is figuring out where to carry the banks and how to run the cables. Just a thought.
