​@@peaches._mark ikr! There are so many interesting facts about all of the authors the characters are inspired by! Like how Dazai and Chuuya were actually rivals, always badmouthing each other 😂 or the fact that the IRL Dazai, Oda and Ango were actually very good friends and hung out at the RL Lupin bar (yes it's a real place and it's still open till this day and I've heard that if you say you're a fan of BSD they will make you the drink with the spherical ice) and Dazai even gave a "speech" after Oda's death. One of my favourite contrasts from IRL to BSD is the relationship between Yosano and Mori. Mori and Yosano were actually very good friends! So much so that he helped her get money so she could follow her husband to Paris and she even named her 2 daughters after a poem he wrote to her when they were born. And then you have Dazai and Akutagawa where IRL Dazai actually looked up to Akutagawa (a lot of authors did and there is even the Akutagawa award that I believe is the greatest writing award in Japan) and, when Akutagawa committed suicide, that was when Dazai became obsessed with suicide and tried to kill himself several times before he finally managed to commit double suicide with his wife on their third attempt. Another curious fact about Mori: the book his ability is named after "Vita Sexualis" was actually banned by the Government right after it was published because it was deemed too sexual at the time and then his daughter was basically the creator of the Yaoi/BL genre with some of her works 😂 Sorry for the long comment 😅 but I just find it fascinating finding these little nuggets that they were able to put in BSD and I love sharing what I know and learned 😁
