Went for a sleep study, and the next morning, I had a bruise on my face where the mask had pressed against my skin. The bruise was there for several days and then formed sores like little pimples which eventually burst and bled. When I asked about it at the sleep clinic, I never got any response.

Thank you for reaching out. As per the user guide, it is recommended to wipe your cushion with a CPAP wipe or equivalent (non-alcoholic) and then allow to dry. It is also recommended to replace your cushion every month. The cushion must not be submerged in liquid as this may damage the cushion and affect mask performance.

Thank you for reaching out. It appears that you may be experiencing mask leakage, causing watery eyes during your CPAP therapy. To start, you can try adjusting the straps on your mask where the leak is happening. You can also contact your medical equipment supplier who can help you with obtaining a better fit/seal on your mask or adjusting your pressure settings (if necessary) to prevent these issues from reoccurring.

Hi Maureen, Thank you for reaching out to us about your tubing. As a first step, please check your tubing to make sure it is firmly and securely connected to your mask before you fall asleep. We often also see this issue with tubing that hasn't been washed/maintained or if it's been used for a prolonged period of time, as the “cuffs” will stretch out and not stay as secure. The recommended replacement schedule for tubing is every 90 days. So, it may be time to contact your medical equipment supplier about replacing your tubing. This should help resolve your disconnection issues.

When attaching your tubing to your mask, it should connect snuggling onto the elbow venting, and make sure it clicks into place. If you're using a new mask, please check the tubing to make sure the elbow attachment from your previous mask is not still attached. If so, simply remove the elbow attachment and place it with the old mask. Your tubing and new mask should then connect as needed. If you're still having issues, please contact your medical equipment supplier for more direct assistance.

Thank you for reaching out. With proper care and cleaning as outlined in your user guide, the exhaust vents and anti-asphyxia valves should remain free of obstruction. Please make sure nothing is blocking these vents on your elbow attachment as they're designed to prevent rebreathing exhaled breath. @ResMedAmericas24 күн бұрын
Hi Chris, Thanks for reaching out to us. You should be alright washing the tubing by hand only (including the circuit at the end) with warm water and a mild detergent. As long as you don't wash the tubing in a dishwasher or machine, this alone should not damage it. Of course, for your safety and the safety of the equipment, please be sure the ends of your tubing are completely dry before reconnecting it to your machine or mask. For more information, please refer to your product's user guide.

@ResMedAmericas27 күн бұрын
Hi Vicki, There are a few things that can cause whistling with your mask. We'd recommend disassembling and cleaning the mask thoroughly. When you reassemble the mask, be sure to firmly and securely reconnect your tubing to the machine and to your mask; you should hear a soft click. Then, adjust the fit of your mask to prevent any potential leaks. If you continue to experience a whistling after doing this, please contact your medical equipment supplier for further assistance with your mask.

I wake up every night with severe cotton mouth and a half full water reservoir. If I set the humidity level higher, than the hose makes a loud pulling noise like the water through a straw, and wake up to water dripping out of my mask when i remove it. How do I change this?
@ResMedAmericas29 күн бұрын
Hi Baby Bison, thanks for reaching out and we're sorry to hear that you are facing various issues with your CPAP mask. The dry mouth could be caused by a few different factors. As for the noise you're hearing from your mask, this could be due to poor fit or high air pressure. The water dripping out of your mask when you remove it may be a result of what we call CPAP rainout, which can occur when heated air cools in the tubing and reaches your mask as water instead of vapor. You can try reducing the humidity settings on your machine, raising the room temperature, or using a tubing wrap or heated tubing like ResMed ClimateLineAir to help prevent rainout. For more information on rainout, see our blog article here: bit.ly/4cJQABY We also have a blog post that outlines three of the potential causes for dry mouth and some options for you: bit.ly/4bPZSep As always, please reach out to your healthcare provider or medical equipment supplier as they would best be able to make some of the necessary adjustments in-person to improve your fit and comfort. Feel free to reach out to them for further guidance.

@@ResMedAmericas appreciate the reply and the tips. I'll try those out. Mask fit isn't a problem, at least according to my nightly reports, so assuming it's the difference in the tube to ambient air temperature. Should I be aiming for a temperature that matches the room temperature or lower than the room temp? Also, will that low of a temperature still heat up enough to make vapor?
@ResMedAmericas29 күн бұрын
To prevent rainout, make sure the temperature setting is a few degrees higher than the ambient temperature in your room. As always, you should talk with your physician prior to making any significant changes to your therapy settings.

I hate mine. I wake up in the middle of the night with air blowing so hard out of several sides and I have it fit, so tight that the right side of my head is red and painful to the touch bc I mainly sleep on that side. I've tried adjusting MANY times but nothing seems to work. My leak rate keeps going up and today's was the worst. I think it was 29l/ml per hr. That's absurd. Going to the VA Friday and hopefully they have the mask I asked to try, instead of this full face one. The silicone seal seems out of wack. I'm so tired all day. When I first started, about 3½ wks ago, it seems like everything was good. Now, I wake up night after night with leaks. I'm very frustrated at this point. 😢

Hello Lisa, thank you for getting in touch. It seems like the stains in your device's water chamber are due to mineral deposits from dried-up tap water. To prevent this issue, please use distilled water. For detailed cleaning instructions, refer to your product's user guide. We recommend following the cleaning guidelines provided in the user guide and advise against using cleaning tablets with the equipment. If you choose to use these products, please do so with caution.
