Yeah, they're still getting the job done. The more people that come out though, the more I feel I need a few more to cover more of the audience. This setup is great for a one household backyard show but if it expands to multiple houses around a lake (as is my case), things start getting more complicated.

Great follow up on the show. I watched the original and video and thoroughly enjoyed it. Do you use 1.4 pro-line throughout or some regular 1.4 ? Great timing on most of the firing. I see in your detail you did floating platforms. My show goes about 40 minutes but I need to add music too it. I have Cobra gear also. Had about 9,000 shots various effects. Is the 6 minutes part of your show or the whole show? Some crossette spreads multi-color would do well. Cool show.

That’s a nice size lake! Wish I had that kind of space for sure. My sound system is the Rockville RPG-152K package with subwoofer. It covers my area of the lake well but I wish I had a way for others around the lake to hear it better… If you’re looking for a lot of coverage 100+ people, as it sounds like you may have a lot more space, you might want to look into something more powerful. The QSC systems I’ve heard a LOT about in the pyro space. You can read more about my audio setup here: www.thenovicepyro.com/episode-2-upgrading-your-audio/

Thanks man! The best option is to take a PGI training course from a certified instructor as it is the most widely accepted certification. Appreciate that! I am using the RPG-152k speaker package from Rockville. In my case, I place them on the sides of our beach and point one at the people on the beach and one at the people on the lawn. This gets the best coverage. Typically you would place in front of the audience though if you have the space. These work great for my small space but I’m starting to grow out of them as more people come to see the shows. Just found your channel yesterday. I’ve been wanting to invest in a firing system and really want to do Cobra (seems like you have $7k-8k invested into this show of Cobra - retail). I did a 20 minute show this year which cost me right at $2k from American Wholesale after discounts, and it is all on one fuse (see on my channel - start at 17:40 if you just want to see 1.4 pro stuff). I’m thinking I’ll get cobra controller and a 36M and still have the majority of the show on a fuse for next year, but have some slices, mines, strobes, gerbs, flames, timed in between song transitions. Any thoughts? And btw love the channel and loved the show! 🇺🇸
@TheNovicePyro
@TheNovicePyro Ай бұрын
Hi Joe. Welcome to the party! I’ve lost track of costs honestly. I don’t think I want to tally it up lol. You’re about correct though on equipment cost. I buy a LOT of fireworks so I get good pricing. This show cost about $1,200 for the fireworks alone. I’m sure others can get even better pricing, but I digress. I think your plan is solid. Start small and work your way up. It’s a significant investment but as long as you’re cool with spending a thousand or so each year… by the time you know it, you’ve got a helluva setup. Take advantage of Black Friday deals and also look out for people selling gear on the COBRA Facebook group as well. Someone just listed over 100 modules for well under retail. Yeah they’re used, but it can be worth looking into. Good luck man!

@TheNovicePyro Ай бұрын
Thanks! I purchase fireworks wholesale by the case usually, so the show cost around $1,400 just for the fireworks alone But I had to spend at least $3,000-5,000 to get that pricing. I do multiple shows per year so it’s worth it for me to buy bulk wholesale. Of course then there is the equipment which adds an ungodly amount on top of that lol.

Nice. I've been doing annual scripted shows on the fourth for a few years. This was my first year using cobra for it. We had a pretty similar setup. 3 positions wide. Mine mostly a cake show so less cues but longer duration. 15 minutes and I think around 130 cues. How did you secure your floating positions? I've always wanted to try it out but wasn't sure on the logistics of keeping them from floating around. I'll try to get the music synced to mine and get it uploaded tomorrow.

@TheNovicePyro Ай бұрын
Most artists (through rights management companies) allow using their music on KZfaq. The only consequence is the video cannot be monetized (I don’t care to make money on KZfaq anyways). Some are more tolerant than others. Before I do a show, I upload a test video privately to my channel once I’ve selected my music. If all music is allowed on KZfaq, I’m good to go. If they don’t allow it, I won’t use it and will remember to avoid that artist in the future. That has happened only one time so far (Miley Cyrus - no big loss there).
